YORK — Lily Posternak scored on the first attempt of the second round of penalty corners to lift top-seeded York to a 2-1 win over fourth-seeded Leavitt in a Western Class B field hockey semifinal Saturday.

Leavitt (12-4) took the lead in the first half, but the Wildcats (16-0) tied it with 9:49 left in regulation when Kathleen Cronin scored on an assist from Taylor Simpson.

MASSABESIC 2, FALMOUTH 0: Emma Desrochers scored off a penalty corner with an assist from Alex Staples 20 minutes into the game, and the second-seeded Mustangs (14-2) held off third-seeded Falmouth (13-3) in a Western Class A semifinal at Waterboro.

Massabesic added to its lead with 11:36 left when Jackie Guillemette tipped in a hard entry pass by Logan Provencher.

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 4, CAPE ELIZABETH 0: Nicole Hamblin scored with 7:40 left in the first half, and the second-seeded Phoenix (15-0-1) added three goals in the second half against the third-seeded Capers (11-5) in a Western Class B semifinal at Livermore Falls.

SCARBOROUGH 3, KENNEBUNK 0: Abby Mills finished with 11 kills, four aces and two digs as the top-ranked Red Storm (15-0) cruised past the ninth-seeded Rams (7-9) in a Class A quarterfinal at Scarborough, 25-8, 25-15, 25-14.

Natalie Foster added eight kills, and Lauren Piper finished with 17 assists and three aces.

GREELY 3, ELLSWORTH 0: Kayley Cimino closed out a 25-14 first-game win with a kill, and finished with seven aces, five kills, three blocks and 25 assists to lead the fifth-seeded Rangers (11-4) past the fourth-seeded Eagles (12-3) in a Class A quarterfinal at Ellsworth.

Jordynne Copp added 11 kills, Emily Warnock had nine, and Sarah Shelton and Lexi Foster contributed eight each for the Rangers, who won Game 2 by a 25-19 score and closed out the match with a 25-18 win in Game 3.
