South Portland girls' basketball coach resigns

South Portland High girls' basketball coach Mike Giordano has resigned after 17 seasons.

Giordano won his 200th game last season. He had an overall record of 206-124. He guided the Red Riots to one Western Maine final and three appearances in the semifinals. Under Giordano, South Portland has qualified for the tournament the last 13 seasons.

Giordano is also the president of the Maine Association of Basketball Coaches.
