Boston Red Sox outfielder Carl Crawford will be playing for the Portland Sea Dogs on Tuesday as part of his rehab assignment.
Portland takes on the Trenton Thunder at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

Crawford, 30, has not played this season because of a left wrist surgery and a sprained ligament in his left elbow. He has made five rehab appearances with the Gulf Coast League Red Sox hitting .214 (3 for 14) with two runs scored.

After spending his first 12 professional seasons in the Tampa Bay Rays organization, Crawford signed with the Red Sox as a free agent in December 2010.
He's a four-time All-Star and Gold Glove Award winner.

In his first season with the Red Sox, Crawford hit .255 with 11 home runs, 56 RBI and 18 stolen bases.

According to media reports out of Seattle, Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine said that rehabbing outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury could also join the Portland Sea Dogs on Tuesday.
