Sports Digest: Beach to Beacon to benefit Rippleffect

ROAD RACING

TD BEACH TO BEACON: Rippleffect, a Portland-based nonprofit youth and community development organization, was selected as the beneficiary of the TD Beach to Beacon 10K Road Race to be held on Aug. 2 in Cape Elizabeth.

Rippleffect served 2,500 Maine children in 2013 with its outdoor adventure and experiential education programs.

The TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, will provide a cash donation of $30,000 to Rippleffect.PREP SCHOOLS

 

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Rebecca Siegel scored 13 points and Maggie DuChene added 10 to lead Berwick Academy to a 55-16 win over Brewster Academy at South Berwick. Dominique St. Pierre added seven points and four assists for the Bulldogs, who improved to 9-1.
