Summers returns to Pirates

The Phoenix Coyotes have assigned defenseman Chris Summers to the Portland Pirates, their AHL affiliate.

During his call up to the NHL, Summers, 25, was scoreless in five games with the Coyotes.

In 41 games with the Pirates this season, Summers scored two goals and had eight assists.
