PORTLAND— Kris Newberry and Chad Kolarik each scored a goal and had an assist as the Connecticut Whale skated to a 4-1 win against the Portland Pirates before a sellout crowd of 6,944 Saturday night at the Cumberland County Civic Center.
Shayne Weibe and Kelsey Tessier also scored goals as the Whale beat the Pirates for the second time in five days on their home ice.
Ethan Werek scored a goal to send Portland into a short-lived first period lead.
