FRYEBURG – Bright Amoako led a balanced offense with 15 points Thursday night as Fryeburg Academy posted its first win of the season, topping Wells 69-61 in a Western Maine Conference boys’ basketball game.

Fryeburg (1-6) had four other players with double-digit scoring. Walker Mallory had 13, Jaquan Causer 12, Tyler Saunders 11 and Jonathan Burke 10.

In an otherwise even match, the Raiders outscored the Warriors (4-2) 23-7 in the second quarter.

Jake Moody had 31 points and Dylan Stevens scored 23 for Wells.

CAPE ELIZABETH 52, WAYNFLETE 34: Chris Robicheaw had 14 points to propel the Capers (6-1) over the Flyers (6-1) at Cape Elizabeth.

Robicheaw scored nine in the fourth, including a pair of 3-point shots, as the Capers outscored the Flyers 20-6 in the quarter.

Henry Babcock added eight points with nine rebounds and Edward Galvin scored six and grabbed seven rebounds for Cape Elizabeth.

Serge Nyirikamba tallied 18 for Waynflete.

SANFORD 67, CHEVERUS 62: Ryan Camire scored 21 points to pace the Spartans (5-3) in a win over the Stags (3-5) at Sanford.

Evyn Nolette and Brandon Stanton chipped in with 11 points apiece for Sanford.

Cheverus was led by Emmanuel Ismail and Noah Stebbins with 17 points each.

POLAND 49, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 33: CJ Martin had 14 points to lead the Knights (2-5) over the Patriots (1-4) at Poland.

Kevin Cavallaro and Samuel Johnson each scored nine for Gray-New Gloucester.

MORSE 56, MT. VIEW 41: Ethan Winglass scored 12 points to pace a balanced attack and Kevin McKeller pulled down 10 rebounds for the Shipbuilders (4-3) in a win over the Mustangs (1-7) at Thorndike.

MOUNTAIN VALLEY 47, BOOTHBAY 46: Dom Haines scored 14 points to help the Falcons (5-1) hold off the Seahawks (6-1) at Rumford.

John Hepburn led Boothbay with 22 points.

SEACOAST CHRISTIAN 61, SACOPEE VALLEY 30: Caleb Gould scored 12 points and Josh Gustafson and Isaac La Croix added 10 each as the Guardians (3-3) cruised past the Hawks (0-6) at Hiram.

Alex Fenderson led the Hawks with 11 points.

GREELY 56, LAKE REGION 40: Michael McDevitt scored a game-high 26 points to lead the Rangers (4-3) as they pulled away from the Lakers (3-4) in the fourth quarter at Naples.

Conner Hanley chipped in with 17 points for Greely, which led 38-32 going into the fourth quarter.

Lake Region was paced by Sam Smith with 11 points, including three 3-pointers.

WINSLOW 69, CAMDEN HILLS 59: Nason Lanpheir scored a game-high 22 points as the Black Raiders (5-2) beat the visiting Windjammers (5-2) in a KVAC B game.

MEDOMAK VALLEY 55, MCI 48: Ryan Ripley scored 12 points as the Panthers (7-1) beat the Huskies (1-6) in a KVAC B game in Pittsfield.

NOKOMIS 54, LINCOLN 39: Spencer Hartsgrove scored 26 points, including four 3-pointers, as the Warriors (4-3) beat the Eagles (2-6) in a KVAC B game in Newport.

YARMOUTH 77, FREEPORT 30: David Murphy had 14 points as the Clippers (4-3) bested the Falcons (1-6) at Yarmouth.

TRAIP ACADEMY 61, A.R. GOULD 50: Atencio Martin scored a game-high 18 points to pace the Rangers (3-4) as they downed the Bears (4-2) at South Portland.

Zacharia Mohamed scored 15 points and Tim Robertson added 13 for A.R. Gould.

HOCKEY

CHEVERUS 3, YARMOUTH 0: Conor Ryle had a goal and an assist to spark the Stags (5-1) past the Clippers (0-4-2) at Yarmouth.

Patrick Sullivan and Liam Fitzpatrick rounded out the scoring.

Cheverus goalie Jason Blier made 24 saves for the shutout. Red DeSmith stopped 26 for Yarmouth.

SCARBOROUGH 8, CAPE ELIZABETH 0: Garrett McDonald had a hat trick as the Red Storm (6-1) blanked the Capers (1-4-1) at Portland Ice Arena.

Jack Rousselle and Jake Gross each scored twice. Cam Brochu also scored.
