Maine's Beach to Beacon run seeking volunteers

CAPE ELIZABETH — Organizers are seeking volunteers for the 2012 TD Beach to Beacon 10K Road Race in Cape Elizabeth.

The event, now in its 15th year, needs more than 800 volunteers to help with parking, water stations, registration, course setup and breakdown, baggage assistance, recycling and the medical tent.

New and returning volunteers can sign up at http://www.beach2beacon.org/VOLUNTEER .

A field of 6,000 runners is expected for this year's race, to be held Aug. 4.
