The Pro All Stars Series North tour takes over Beech Ridge Motor Speedway for the next four days.

The PASS 400 Weekend starts tonight at the Scarborough speedway with races featuring three entry-level divisions and ends Sunday with a 300-lap feature for the regional tour’s Super Late Models.

Tonight’s race card includes racing in the compact truck, eight-cylinder full-sized cars and four-cylinder divisions.

“Normally, these cars run Thursday nights at Beech Ridge and Wednesday nights at Oxford Plains Speedway during the summer,” Beech Ridge owner Andy Cusack said. “They’ll get to race in heats to qualify for the feature, and that’s different than what they usually get to do.

“Entry-level cars will be racing in an upper-level format, so it’s kind of a big deal for them.”

If rain washes out tonight’s program, it will run Friday night.

On Friday, practice sessions will start at noon.

Saturday’s racing program, which starts 12:10 p.m., includes a 50-lap Legends feature, a 25-lap PASS Mods feature and a 75-lap Wildcat feature.

Racing concludes Sunday afternoon with a 40-lap feature for PASS Mods, a 100-lap feature for PASS Sportsmen and the 300-lap SLM feature.

JOHNNY CLARK of Hallowell appears well on his way to winning his fourth consecutive PASS North Super Late Model championship. Clark, who has finished first in six of 11 races this season, holds a 101-point lead over Ben Rowe of Turner.

“Johnny has a substantial point lead, but the fact is we’ve got three races to go and anything can happen,” said PASS North spokesman Norm Desjardins. “If he gets into a wreck and Ben (Rowe) wins a race, then we’ve got a points race again.”

The points races in PASS North’s other two racing divisions are much closer.

In the Sportsmen Division, Shane Tatro of Holden holds a 35-point lead over Craig Smith of East Waterboro. Carey Martin of Denmark trails Tatro by 36 points.

In the Mods, Andy Shaw of North Conway, N.H., holds a 16-point lead over Alan Wilson of Hebron. Shaw has won five of the six races in the division; Wilson has five top-five finishes.

NINE DRIVERS from Maine have been invited to run in the third annual American Canadian Tour Invitational Sept. 24 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Ben Ashline of Pittston, T.J. Brackett of Buckfield, Dave Farrington Jr. of Jay, Glen Luce of Turner, Shawn Martin of Turner, Ricky Rolfe of Albany Township, Jeff Taylor of Farmington, Austin Theriault of Fort Kent and Jeff White of Winthrop are among the 43 drivers from New England and Canada who have been extended invitations by the regional racing tour for Late Models.

The 50-lap race, which will not affect the ACT standings, will be held in conjunction with NASCAR’s Race for the Chase weekend.
