SCARBOROUGH – Shania Speight scored the equalizer for Biddeford on a penalty kick with nine minutes left in regulation as the Tigers played to a 1-1 tie against Scarborough in an SMAA girls’ soccer match Saturday.

Scarborough (2-0-1) took the lead on Ashley Gleason’s goal in the second minute of the second half.

Anna Marie Seiler made 16 saves for Biddeford (2-0-1). Scarborough keeper Sydney Martin stopped five shots.

MARSHWOOD 5, CHEVERUS 3: Lydia St. Pierre scored one goal and assisted on three others as the Hawks (3-0) raced out to an early lead and held off the Stags (0-3) at South Berwick.

Hannah Folger, Hailey Tarr, Sydney Jackman and Meagan McLean added a goal apiece for Marshwood.

Cheverus got a pair of goals from Emily Turner.

MASSABESIC 1, MCAULEY 0: Alyssa Wardwell dribbled up the middle and scored from outside the box midway through the first half, lifting the Mustangs (2-1) to a win over the Lions (1-2) in Portland.

Hannah Lundrigan made 12 saves for the shutout. McAuley’s Jordyn Carr stopped 15 shots.

OCEANSIDE 2, LEAVITT 0: Payton Billingsly assisted on both goals for the Mariners (3-0) against the Hornets (1-2) at Rockland.

Emma Spencer opened the scoring 7:24 into the game. Emily Gould added a goal with 5:40 left in the first half.

Kaylyn Grover made five saves to record the shutout. Leavitt keeper Angela Daigle had 10 saves.

SACOPEE VALLEY 4, RICHMOND 2: Courtney Ryan scored twice and assisted on the other two goals for the Hawks (1-1) against the Bobcats (3-1) at South Hiram.

McKenzie Brown gave Sacopee a 3-1 lead midway through the second half, receiving Ryan’s pass and firing a 25-yarder into the goal.

Kayla Brown had a goal and an assist for Sacopee Valley, and Maddie Day made 14 saves.

Camryn Hurley and Meranda Martin scored for the Bobcats.

BOYS’ SOCCER

FREEPORT 3, POLAND 0: Jack Davenport scored in each half as the Falcons (1-1) beat the Knights (0-3) at Poland.

Davenport opened the scoring just 1:41 into the game, then made it 2-0 eight minutes into the second half. Ethan Roney added a late goal.

Freeport keeper Brendan Qualls recorded four saves. Poland’s Zack Lowe stopped a penalty kick among his eight saves.

BONNY EAGLE 5, SANFORD 4: James Patchell and Ryan Kern scored twice each as the Scots (2-1) beat the Spartans (0-3) in Standish.

Evyn Nolette notched three of Sanford’s goals.

Patchell scored twice in the first half and Kern and Ryan Moody had one goal each for a 4-1 lead. Nolette and Kern traded early second-half goals before the Spartans made it close on Nolette’s goal with 24:19 left and Tanner McFarland’s with 15 minutes to go.

Jeff Martin finished with nine saves for the Scots. Jimmy Parks had for saves for Sanford.

GORHAM 3, SOUTH PORTLAND 1: Travis Grant beat a defender to Austin Bell’s ball toward the corner, dribbled past another defender and scored the go-ahead goal in the second half as the Rams (3-0) upended the Red Riots (1-2) in South Portland.

Morgan Hager-Perry’s goal increased the lead to 3-1. Cody Elliott was credited with a first-half goal for the Rams. Brady Cyr scored for South Portland.

Matt Bennett stopped five shots for Gorham, while Henry Curran made four saves for the Riots.

MT. VIEW 4, NOKOMIS 0: Bryan Jungels scored twice for the Mustangs (2-1) and Brandon Reynolds added a goal and an assist in a win over the Warriors (0-2) at Thorndike.

Kyle Crowell also scored, and Mikey Hustus made six saves to record the shutout.

CAMDEN HILLS 10, MCI 1: Zach Pitcairn, Josiah Simkho and Grayson Szumillas each scored twice for the Windjammers in a win over the Huskies at Pittsfield.

Alex Blackwell, Jack Gallagher, Field Leonard and Nick Walker also scored.

GARDINER 1, LINCOLN ACADEMY 1: Josh Caldwell drilled a shot from 22 yards to give Gardiner (0-3-1) a lead in the first half at Kents Hill, but the Eagles (0-1-2) tied the game with 52 seconds left in the half when Deven Scherer headed in a pass from Greg Anderson.

FIELD HOCKEY

MARSHWOOD 2, WESTBROOK 1: Lindsey Poirier scored the tying goal in the second half and Karissa Boesch won in overtime as the Hawks (3-1) rallied past the Blue Blazes (2-2) at Westbrook.

Ashley Tice assisted on the winning goal.

LAWRENCE 4, BRUNSWICK 0: McKenna Rogers scored one goal and assisted on another to lead the Bulldogs (3-1) past the Dragons (1-3) at Brunswick.

Lauren Watson, Dominique Lewis and Hallee Parlin added a goal apiece.

Brunswick goalie Jordan Van Savage finished with 31 saves.

MT. VIEW 2, MCI 1: Braley Leadbetter scored with five minutes left in overtime to lift the Mustangs (2-2) over the Huskies (2-1) at Pittsfield.

The Mustangs opened the scoring midway through the first half on a goal by Kersey Boulay.

Cassie Miller got the equalizer for MCI with 20 minutes left.

SKOWHEGAN 9, MT. ARARAT 0: Brooke Michonski scored three of her four goals in the first half as the Indians (4-0) cruised past the Eagles (0-4) at Topsham.

Renee Wright added two goals and an assist. Logan LeBlanc scored one goal and assisted on two others.
