ORONO — Tommy Lawrence struck out five and walked one while throwing a six-hitter, starting the University of Maine on its way to a baseball doubleheader sweep Saturday against Albany, 4-1 and 7-4.

Alex Calbick had a pair of hits with an RBI and a run scored in the opener for the Black Bears (15-13, 6-2 America East).

Troy Black and Eric White each had three hits in the second game. Black drove in two runs and scored twice, and White scored thee runs. 

ST. JOSEPH’S SPLITS WITH LASELL: Zach Graham went 2 for 3 with two RBI and a run scored to lead the Monks (10-5, 1-1 GNAC) to a 6-1 win over the Lasers (4-9, 1-1) in the second game at Standish.

Tim Beaudette and Mike Pratt had two hits apiece in the opener, which the Monks lost 4-2.

BOWDOIN SPLITS WITH TRINITY: Timothy McGarry’s two-run double in the first inning was the only hit the Polar Bears (9-8, 1-2 NESCAC East) needed to take a 4-1 win over the Bantams (10-8, 2-1) in the second game at Hartford, Conn.

Trinity took the opener 8-6 in eight innings.

BATES SPLITS WITH TUFTS: Kevin Davis’ two-run double in the second inning helped Bates take a 4-0 lead, and the Bobcats (7-5, 2-1 NESCAC East) held on for a 5-3 win over the Jumbos (8-6, 1-2) in the second game at Medford, Mass.

Tufts won the opener, 5-1.

CHICAGO SWEEPS COLBY: Luke Duncklee had five hits for the Mules (7-4) in 16-12 and 5-4 losses to the Maroons (7-6) at Auburndale, Fla.

John Schroeder had four RBI for Colby in the opener, and Jason Buco drove in three.

ST. JOSEPH’S SWEEPS LASELL: Connie Grovo hit a two-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning and finished with four hits and three RBI for the Monks (14-4, 6-2 GNAC) in a 3-2 win over the Lasers (4-10, 1-3) at Standish.

Lindsay Moore went 3 for 3 with three RBI in the second game as the Monks cruised to a 14-0 win in five innings.

R.I. COLLEGE SWEEPS SOUTHERN MAINE: Jesse Hutchins gave up only an unearned run on two hits for the Huskies (1-11, 0-2 Little East) in a 1-0 loss to the Anchorwomen (10-6, 2-0) at Providence, R.I., after USM lost the opener, 5-1.

BOWDOIN SWEEPS TRINITY: Gen Barlow, Toni DaCampo and Katie Gately each homered to lift the Polar Bears (13-6, 2-1 NESCAC East) to a 6-5 win over the Bantams (8-7, 1-2) in the opener at Hartford, Conn.

Bowdoin won the second game, 9-1, in six innings, behind two doubles, a triple, two runs scored and two RBI from DaCampo.

TUFTS SWEEPS BATES: The Jumbos (16-1, 3-0 NESCAC East) blasted five homers on the way to an 8-4 win in the opener, and Allyson Fournier pitched a five-inning no-hitter for a 9-0 victory against the Bobcats (4-7, 0-3) at Medford, Mass.

ST. JOSEPH’S 14, EMERSON 5: Andrew Sullivan scored four goals and Dalton Eldridge added three as the Monks (4-6, 3-0 GNAC) downed the Lions (2-4, 1-3) in Portland.

KEENE STATE 14, SOUTHERN MAINE 12: Kyle Baker, Mark White and Kayle Hamilton scored three goals apiece for USM (3-5, 0-1 Little East) in a loss to the Owls (6-1, 1-0) at Gorham.

ROGER WILLIAMS 12, UNE 6: Pat Wolfe led the Nor’easters (6-3, 1-1 Commonwealth Coast) with three goals in a loss to the Hawks (4-4, 2-0) at Biddeford.

BOWDOIN 7, MIDDLEBURY 6: Christopher Williamson stopped a point-blank shot as time expired and finished with 18 saves as the Polar Bears (5-2, 3-2 NESCAC) held off the Panthers (6-1, 4-1) at Brunswick.

Billy Bergner scored three goals to pace the Polar Bears.

WILLIAMS 10, BATES 7: Jack Allard scored a career-high five goals for Bates (5-4, 3-3 NESCAC) in a loss to the Ephs (3-3, 2-2) at Williamstown, Mass.

CONNECTICUT COLLEGE 11, COLBY 10: Ian Deveau scored five goals and Greg McKillop tied a school record with six assists for the Mules (4-3, 1-3 NESCAC) in a loss to the Camels (5-2, 5-1) at Waterville.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE

SOUTHERN MAINE 8, KEENE STATE 7: Rosie Forster scored with 9.9 seconds left to push the Huskies (5-2, 1-0 Little East) past Keene State (2-5, 0-1) at Gorham.

Forster and Jacki Kelly led USM with three goals each.

SIMMONS 15, ST. JOSEPH’S 10: Anneka Adame’s three goals weren’t enough for the Monks (6-4, 3-1 GNAC) in a loss to Simmons (6-1, 5-0) at Standish.

ROGER WILLIAMS 18, UNE 17: Hannah Tavella scored six goals for the Nor’easters (3-5, 1-1 Commonwealth Coast), but Rog- er Williams (4-4, 2-0) erased a 12-7 halftime deficit at Biddeford.

MIDDLEBURY 15, BOWDOIN 10: Mackenzie Schleicher and Jordan Smith each scored three goals for Bowdoin (5-1, 4-1 NESCAC) in a loss to the Panthers (7-0, 4-0) at Brunswick.

BATES 11, WILLIAMS 10: Wally Pierce scored a career-high four goals and the Bobcats (4-5, 2-4 NESCAC) held off the Ephs (6-2, 2-2) at Lewiston.

COLBY 11, CONNECTICUT COLLEGE 8: Tess Petesch scored a pair of goals and assisted on another as the Mules (6-0, 4-0 NESCAC) beat the Camels (2-6, 0-6) at New London, Conn.
