BRUNSWICK – Colleen Finnerty scored one goal and assisted on two others as Bowdoin tied a school record with its 39th straight home victory, beating Williams 5-0 in a New England Small College Athletic Conference field hockey game Sunday.

Katie Riley added a goal and an assist for Bowdoin (10-1, 6-1). Liz Znamierowski, Mettler Growney and Emily Simonton also scored.

MAINE 3, NORTHEASTERN 2: Annabelle Hamilton scored on a penalty corner with 55 seconds left in regulation to lift the Black Bears (7-6) over the Huskies (5-8) at Orono.

Northeastern took the lead four minutes into the game, but Maine tied it less than a minute later on a goal by Cassidy Svetek.

Sydney Veljacic gave Maine a 2-1 lead when she scored nine minutes into the second half. Northeastern got the equalizer in the 59th minute.

BATES 4, BABSON 1: Shannon Beaton scored a pair of goals and Caroline Falcone added a goal and an assist to lead the Bobcats (4-7) over the Beavers (8-6) at Lewiston.

Beaton scored the first of her two goals midway through the second half, just five minutes after Babson tied the game.

Bates opened the scoring 23:34 into the game on a goal by Polly Merck.

COLBY 6, CONNECTICUT COLLEGE 1: Megan Fortier scored all three first-half goals for the Mules (6-4, 3-4 NESCAC) as they cruised past the Camels (3-6, 1-5) at Waterville.

Charlotte Deavers, Natalie Fischer and Caitlin Murray each added a second-half goal.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

BINGHAMTON 3, MAINE 2: Stephani Church scored with less than two minutes left in the first overtime to give the Bobcats (7-4-2, 2-1-1 America East) a win over the Black Bears (6-4-4, 3-1-1) at Orono.

Nikki Misener and Charlene Achille scored in the first 22:35 as Maine built a 2-0 lead.

WILLIAMS 3, BOWDOIN 0: Alison Magruder and Kristi Kirshe each had a goal and an assist as the Ephs (7-1-2, 4-1-1 NESCAC) beat the Polar Bears (8-2-1, 4-2-1) at Brunswick.

CONNECTICUT COLLEGE 1, COLBY 1: Annie Papadellis gave Colby (4-5-1, 1-5-1 NESCAC) the lead 22 minutes into the game, but the Camels (3-4-3, 1-3-2) got the equalizer midway through the second half at Waterville.

BOWDOIN 1, WILLIAMS 0: Cedric Charlier scored off a rebound 27 minutes into the game and the Polar Bears (5-2-3, 3-2-2 NESCAC) held on for a win over the Ephs (7-3, 4-3) at Brunswick.

Charlier’s goal was scored after a header by Andrew Jones on a cross from Hunter Miller ricocheted off the crossbar.

CONNECTICUT COLLEGE 3, COLBY 0: The Camels (7-2-2, 3-2-2 NESCAC) scored twice in the final 15 minutes to pull away from the Mules (4-7, 0-7) at Waterville.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

MAINE 2, NEW HAMPSHIRE 2: Jennifer More scored the tying goal with 2:23 left in regulation as Maine (0-1-1, 0-1-1 Hockey East) tied UNH (2-2-1, 0-0-1) at Durham, N.H.

Emilie Brigham scored in the first period and Meghann Treacy finished with 50 saves for the Black Bears.

AP TOP 25: The Southeastern Conference set a record for most schools in The Associated Press poll with eight ranked teams.

The Top 25 was shaken Sunday after seven ranked teams lost, including five to teams that were unranked or lower ranked. Stanford dropped eight spots and Michigan fell from the poll.

The top four teams were unchanged, with No. 1 Alabama receiving 55 of 60 first-place votes. No. 2 is Oregon, followed by Clemson and Ohio State.

Stanford dropped eight spots to No. 12 after losing to Utah. Florida State moved up to No. 5, setting up a top-five matchup at Clemson next week.
