AMHERST, Mass. – Colin Downey scored from Ollie Koo and Harry Matheson with 2:05 remaining to lift Bowdoin to a 3-2 men’s hockey win over Amherst in a NESCAC game Friday night.

Bowdoin moved to 10-0-1 with the win.

After Johnny Van Siclen gave Amherst (7-4-1) a lead just 11 seconds in, Jay Livermore evened it with a power-play goal at 10:48 of the second period.

The Jeffs’ Mike Moher and the Polar Bears’ Daniel Weiniger traded short-handed goals in the final seven minutes of the second.

HAMILTON 6, COLBY 3: Dom Jancaterino scored twice and Joe Quattrocchi made 35 saves to lead the Continentals (3-5-2, 2-4-1 NESCAC) past the Mules (3-8, 1-6) at Clinton, N.Y.

Ben Chwick had two goals for Colby.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

BOWDOIN 64, HAMILTON 51: Andrew Madlinger scored 23 points to lead the Polar Bears to a win at Morrell Gymnasium in Brunswick.

Madlinger drained five 3-pointers to lead Bowdoin, while Bryan Hurley scored 12 points and had seven assists. Maximilian Staiger also scored 12 for Bowdoin.

Bowdoin took a 29-28 lead into halftime, but had an 8-0 run early in the second and added a 14-2 stretch midway through the half to pull away. 

MIDDLEBURY 59, BATES 56: Joey Kizel had 17 points to help the Panthers (10-0) get by the Bobcats (5-8) in a NESCAC opener at Lewiston.

Nolan Thompson added 13 points for Middlebury.

Graham Safford had 14 points for the Bobcats, who came within a point three times in the final nine minutes.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

COLBY 57, REGIS 52: Diana Manduca scored 19 points to lead the Mules (5-6) to a come-from-behind win over the Pride (5-4) at Weston, Mass.

Trailing 41-30 with 13:09 to play, Colby went on a 14-0 run, sparked by a pair of 3-point shots by Manduca. Jen Nale added five points in the run and finished with 11.

MIDDLEBURY 72, BATES 68: The Panthers (6-4) took a 31-13 lead in the first 14 minutes and held off the Bobcats (5-6) in a NESCAC opener at Lewiston.

Allie Beaulieu and Meredith Kelly each scored 19 points for Bates. Molly Brown added 12.

BOWDOIN 47, HAMILTON 40: Kaitlin Donohoe racked up 23 points to lead a win at Brunswick. Donohoe’s 23 points was a season high for the senior co-captain.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

BOWDOIN 4, CONNECTICUT COLLEGE 0: Chelsea MacNeil scored a hat trick in the first period to help Bowdoin (7-1-1, 3-0-0 NESCAC) win at Brunswick.

Kim Tess-Wanat assisted on all three goals, all scored in the final eight minutes of the first period.

Bowdoin goalkeeper Kayla Lessard made 24 saves.

AMHERST 10, COLBY 1: Geneva Lloyd went over 100 career points with two goals and four assists in a victory for the Lord Jeffs (6-4, 4-1 NESCAC) over the Mules (4-6, 0-5) at Waterville.

Caroline Chessare scored for Colby.
