SCARBOROUGH – Ashley Briggs scored 18 points to help Scarborough earn a 52-42 win over Sanford in an SMAA girls’ basketball game Friday night.

Mary Redmond contributed nine points for Scarborough (11-3), which tightened up its defense after falling behind 17-16 in the first quarter.

Heather LeBlanc scored 15 points for Sanford (9-4).

MCAULEY 72, GORHAM 38: Allie Clement scored 17 points and Sarah Clement had 15 to lead the Lions (13-0) past the Rams (8-6) at Portland.

Victoria Lux chipped in eight points and 11 rebounds.

Kristin Ross scored 15 points for Gorham.

DEERING 55, PORTLAND 37: Alexis Stephenson scored 11 of her 14 points in the first quarter as the Rams (14-1) went ahead early against the visiting Bulldogs (4-10).

Marissa MacMillan finished with 20 points and Keneisha DiRamio added 10 for the Rams, who built a 28-11 lead in the first quarter.

Brianna Holdren had 14 points for Portland.

WINDHAM 50, KENNEBUNK 29: Sadie Nelson had 13 points and 12 rebounds to help the Eagles (8-7) get past the Rams (2-12) at Windham.

Sam Frost added 11 points.

THORNTON ACADEMY 47, NOBLE 34: Olivia Shaw scored 10 of her 18 points in the first quarter, helping the Golden Trojans (9-5) take a 19-5 lead over the Knights (1-13) at North Berwick.

Lauren Leskowsky chipped in 10 points for Thornton. Chandler Waterman scored 17 for Noble.

WESTBROOK 42, MASSABESIC 33: Alexis Redmond scored 11 points to pace the Blue Blazes (1-13) to a win over the Mustangs (2-11) at Westbrook.

Paige Baldwin and Emily Blackmore added 10 points apiece for the Blue Blazes, who led 25-12 at halftime.

Erica Guimond led the Mustangs with 11 points.

MARSHWOOD 57, BIDDEFORD 16: Abby Hyson scored 14 points and Alli Schoff added 11 as the Hawks (6-8) beat the Tigers (4-10) at South Berwick.

YORK 52, CAPE ELIZABETH 35: Shannon Todd scored 16 points, and Emily Campbell had 12 points and 11 rebounds to help the Wildcats (12-1) beat the visiting Capers (6-7).

Campbell and Ruby Cribby each scored six points in the first quarter as York built a 17-7 lead.

Hannah Sawyer led Cape with eight points.

FALMOUTH 32, WELLS 30: Dayna Vasconcelos scored 15 points as the Yachtsmen (6-7) held off the visiting Warriors (5-8).

Meg Palombo added seven points and Anna Hickey grabbed eight rebounds for Falmouth.

Alison Furness led the Warriors with 10 points.

FREEPORT 62, POLAND 35: Nina Davenport tallied 26 points with 12 rebounds as the Falcons (7-6) downed the Knights (5-8) at Freeport.

LINCOLN ACADEMY 58, CAMDEN HILLS 55: Jen Genthner scored the go-ahead basket with 12 seconds left and Danielle Pinkham added a pair of free throws as the Eagles (6-7) edged the Windjammers (8-5) at Newcastle.

Genthner finished with 23 points and 17 rebounds. Leslie Sandefur helped out with 10 points, 11 rebounds and four steals.

Camden Hills got 21 points from Megan Legage and 20 from Jordan Knowlton.

MT. ARARAT 57, ERSKINE ACADEMY 41: Mallory Nelson scored 23 points and Caitlin LaFountain had 15 as the Eagles (11-3) downed the Eagles (0-14) at South China.

Bridget Humphrey had 15 points and Taylor Boucher chipped in 11 for Erskine.

BOOTHBAY REGION 48, DIRIGO 43: Morgan Clarke scored 13 points as the Seahawks (13-2) rallied past the Cougars (11-3) at Boothbay Harbor.

Alexandra Clarke added 12 points and Abby McLellan chipped in 11 for Boothbay, which trailed 26-20 at halftime but outscored Dirigo 16-3 in the third quarter. Jessica Conant scored 18 for Dirigo.

HYDE 52, VALLEY 42: Kara Fisher scored 15 points and Shannon Ward added 11 as the Phoenix (13-0) beat the Cavaliers (5-9) at Bingham.

RICHMOND 59, GREENVILLE 31: Jamie Plummer had 30 points, nine rebounds and nine steals to lead the host Bobcats (10-2) to a win.

YORK 1, LEWISTON 0: Tori Stocks scored from Abby Cruz with a minute left in the second period and Olivia Drew made 32 saves to lead the Wildcats (12-3-1) past the Blue Devils (12-4) at Lewiston.

York had just seven shots.

BRUNSWICK 4, YARMOUTH/FREEPORT 1: Grace Rabinowitz and Rachel Moroney each had a goal and an assist as the Dragons (6-10) downed the Clippers (5-11) at Brunswick.

Bruswick led 4-0 before Ariel Potter scored on a power play with 7:28 left.
