CALGARY, Alberta — David Krejci and Reilly Smith scored less than two minutes apart late in the third period to lift the Boston Bruins to a 2-1 win over the Calgary Flames Tuesday night.

The Bruins trailed for most of the final two periods before breaking through on David Krejci’s power-play deflection at 13:49.

It took only 1:38 for Reilly Smith to add the winner with a shot that bounced off Flames goalie Reto Berra.

Tuukka Rask stopped 26 shots for Boston, which won its third straight.

Calgary held a pregame video tribute for former longtime Flame Jarome Iginla, who received an extended standing ovation. 

KINGS 6, CANADIENS 0: Rookie Martin Jones made 30 saves for his second shutout in as many games, and six Los Angeles players scored in a win at Montreal.

Jordan Nolan, Anze Kopitar, Alec Martinez, Tyler Toffoli, Jake Muzzin and Justin Williams scored for the Kings, who won their fourth straight.

Carey Price made 12 saves on 16 shots for the Canadiens before being replaced by Peter Budaj, who stopped 12 of 14. 

CAPITALS 6, LIGHTNING 5: Alex Ovechkin scored four goals, including the equalizer with 32.4 seconds left in regulation, and Washington rallied to win in a shootout at home.

Nicklas Backstrom had a goal and four assists, and Troy Brouwer beat Tampa Bay goalie Ben Bishop in the fifth round of the shootout to provide the Capitals with their fifth win in six games.

PANTHERS 3, RED WINGS 2: Brad Boyes scored the deciding shootout goal to give Florida a win at home.

Nick Bjugstad and Sean Bergenheim had goals in regulation for Florida. Tim Thomas made 24 saves.

Pavel Datsyuk and Todd Bertuzzi scored for the Red Wings. Jimmy Howard made 25 saves and Johan Franzen had two assists. 

BLACKHAWKS 6, STARS 2: Patrick Sharp scored twice, extending his domination of the Stars, and Chicago cruised at Dallas.

Sharp has four goals and four assists in four games against the Stars this season.

Brandon Saad also scored two goals for Chicago, and Patrick Kane had a goal and two assists. 

COYOTES 3, AVALANCHE 1: Antoine Vermette scored two goals, Thomas Greiss stopped 29 shots and Phoenix beat Colorado in Denver.

Jordan Szwarz also had a goal for the Coyotes, who won for just the second time in five games.

Patrick Bordeleau scored his fourth goal of the season for the Avalanche. 

PREDATORS 4, RANGERS 1: Nick Spaling and Rich Clune scored first-period goals, and backup Carter Hutton made 28 saves as Nashville snapped a five-game losing streak with a win at New York.

Rangers captain Ryan Callahan sustained a sprained knee in the first period and will miss four to six weeks. 

SABRES 2, SENATORS 1: Zemgus Girgensons scored the tying goal in the second period and added a score in the 10th round of a shootout to lift host Buffalo over the Senators.

Ryan Miller made 35 saves for the Sabres, who snapped a three-game losing skid. Milan Michalek scored Ottawa’s goal and Robin Lehner made 35 saves. 

BLUE JACKETS 5, DEVILS 4: Nick Foligno scored the game-winning goal with 91 seconds left when Ryan Johansen’s shot went in off his skate, giving Columbus a win at home.

Cam Atkinson had two goals and two assists and Brandon Dubinsky had a goal and three assists for the Blue Jackets.

Damien Brunner scored twice for the Devils. 

BLUES 2, JETS 1: Kevin Shattenkirk scored a power-play goal at 16:58 to give St. Louis a win at Winnipeg.

Alex Steen scored a second-period goal for the Blues. Bryan Little scored early in the third to even it for the Jets.

NOTES

MAPLE LEAFS: Captain Dion Phaneuf was suspended two games for his hit from behind on Boston’s Kevan Miller during Sunday’s loss in Toronto.

Phaneuf will not play against Los Angeles on Wednesday and at St. Louis on Thursday.
