The Central Maine chapter of the Ruffed Grouse Society will host its sportsmen's banquet on Friday, Sept. 21 at Penobscot County Conservation Alliance in Brewer. The event will begin with a social hour at 6 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7:30. Individual dinner tickets are $55 and there is also an optional family membership package for $100 that includes two dinners. Additional family dinners are available at $30 each. The Falmouth Foreside 5K Classic road race and walk will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13 on Fundy Road in Falmouth. The pre-registration cost is $18 and race-day cost is $20. Proceeds will benefit the Falmouth Food Pantry, and educational and health needs in rural Honduras.
