The Action Ski Club invites new members to join. The club and its guests ski at Shawnee Peak from 12:30 to 10 p.m. Saturdays at a reduced rate. Contact Gail Boisvert at Boisvert@acton.k12.me.us or 432-0955.
Tryout dates for Majestix indoor field hockey teams are: U12, Nov. 3, 8-10 a.m.; U14, Nov. 3, 10 a.m. to noon; U16, Nov. 4, 7-9 p.m. and Nov. 7, 6-7:45 p.m.; U19, Nov. 5, 8-10 p.m. and Nov. 7, 8-9:45 p.m. All tryouts will take place at the Alfond Youth Center in Waterville. The Maine Red Claws will hold a scrimmage at Edward Little High in Auburn at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17. Tickets are $5 and may be purchased at the school athletic department, Gippers Sports Bar and Grill, The Hair Connection, or the Red Claws Team Store in Portland. Proceeds will be used to help defray the cost of upgrading Edward Little's facilities.
