A Ride For Roger will host a scramble golf tournament at Nonesuch River Golf Course at 9 a.m. Saturday. The cost is $100 per person. Proceeds will go to the charity A Ride For Rodger, which is raising money to help with medical expenses for Roger Pinette of Old Orchard Beach, who was diagnosed with ALS in 2012. The Delta Hotel Northside Minor Basketball Association in Fredericton, New Brunswick, is seeking New England teams for its tournament on Nov. 2 and 3. The tournament is at the Basketball New Brunswick bantam A and B levels for girls in grades 7 and 8. Teams are guaranteed three games. The Maine Elite Girls Basketball Showcase will be held at Colby College on Nov. 3. The event is for high school girls in grades 9-12. The cost is $40 per player and includes a T-shirt. Players will participate in four or five games with colleges in attendance to evaluate players. Preregistration is required.
