CAPE ELIZABETH - Hailey Petsinger broke a scoreless tie in the second half and added an assist as Cape Elizabeth pulled away for a 3-0 win over Fryeburg Academy in a Western Maine Conference field hockey game Tuesday.
Hannah Newhall and Lauren Steidl contributed a goal apiece, and Aubrey O'Meara and Jane Coffrin each collected an assist for the Capers (7-5).
Cape Elizabeth goalie Julianne Ayers made seven saves.
Fryeburg fell to 10-2.
MARSHWOOD 3, KENNEBUNK 2: Lindsey Poirier scored the only goal of the second half with 7:54 left to lift the Hawks (11-2) over the Rams (4-8) at Kennebunk.
Ashley Tice opened the scoring for Marshwood in the opening minutes of the game, and Sammy Crossman made it 2-0.
The Rams rallied to tie the game when Olivia Sandford and Aron Bayreuther each scored on assists from Tiffany Weeks in the final five minutes of the first half.
WESTBROOK 5, PORTLAND 4: Sarah Hopkins scored her third goal of the game with 1:06 left as the Blue Blazes (9-2-1) edged the Bulldogs (2-9-1) at Portland.
Hopkins also had an assist. Micaela LeBeau added a goal and an assist, and Allison Lemay scored the other goal for Westbrook.
Georgia Drew had pair of goals for Portland. Gianna Gaudet finished with 19 saves.
SOUTH PORTLAND 4, DEERING 1: Kristina Salafia scored all four goals for the Red Riots (3-8-1), including the go-ahead goal 11 minutes into the second half against the Rams (6-7) at South Portland.
South Portland goalie Lani Edwards finished with nine saves. Jaclyn Salevsky had a pair of assists for South Portland, which led 1-0 at halftime.
Mia Thurston tied the game six minutes into the second half.
CHEVERUS 5, MCAULEY 0: Brooke Flaherty scored one goal and assisted on another as the Stags (12-1) beat the Lions (0-12) at McAuley.
Mary Kate Slattery, Gabby Wagabaza, Stacie Swallow and Laura Bither also scored for Cheverus, which led 4-0 at halftime.
SCARBOROUGH 6, NOBLE 0: Rachael Wallace and Maggie Carbin scored two goals apiece to pace the Red Storm (13-0) against the Knights (2-10-1) at Scarborough.
Abby Walker added a goal and an assist, Kristen Murray collected two assists, and Emily Bunting scored one goal.
MT. BLUE 5, MORSE 1: Mikayla Oswald scored two goals to lead the Cougars (6-5) past the Shipbuilders (1-11) in Farmington.
GIRLS' SOCCER
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 2, LAKE REGION 0: Alex Moeller scored on an assist from Julia Martell in the second minute of the game, and Martell added a goal from Haylee Cote in the 25th minute as the Patriots (4-5-2) downed the Lakers (3-5-1) at Gray.
Sam Wilkins made two saves to record her first shutout of the season.
SANFORD 3, BIDDEFORD 0: Taylor Littlefield had a goal and an assist to help the Spartans (10-1) beat the visiting Tigers (3-6-1).
Allison Legere and Marissa Duncan also scored. Kellie Tovey made three saves for the shutout.
Olivia Curtis made 21 saves for Biddeford.
DEERING 4, KENNEBUNK 0: Alexis Elowitch scored twice and Edie Pallozzi had a goal and two assists to lead Deering (7-3) past Kennebunk (0-9-1) at Portland.
Camille Leal also scored.
BOYS' SOCCER
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 7, LAKE REGION 0: Jake La-Cerda had a goal, an assist and a save to help the Patriots (5-3-2) beat the Lakers (1-9) at Naples.
LaCerda, Eric Wilcox, Casey Myhaver and Josh Harper each scored their first varsity goal. Jesse Ricardi had two assists.
