CAPE ELIZABETH – Melanie Vangel scored twice to give undefeated Cape Elizabeth a 2-0 victory over previously unbeaten Greely in a Western Maine Conference girls’ soccer game Friday.

Vangel’s first goal was unassisted in the first half. Maddie Riker assisted on the second-half goal.

Ali Johnson had eight saves for Cape Elizabeth (4-0). Caton Beaulieu stopped 18 shots for Greely (4-1).

FALMOUTH 1, YORK 0: Cassie Darrow tucked in a pass from Annie Criscione with 7:07 remaining to lift the Yachtsmen (4-0-1) over the Wildcats (3-3) at Falmouth.

Caroline Lucas made seven saves to earn the shutout. Carly Lee stopped 12 shots for York.

YARMOUTH 2, FREEPORT 1: The Clippers (1-4) got two goals a minute apart early in the second half to notch their first win of the season, beating the Falcons (3-3) at Freeport.

Tess Merrill scored first, assisted by Emma Torres 1:15 into the second half. Jenna Lowery followed suit on a pass from Claudia Lockwood.

Ashley Richardson put Freeport on the board with 16 minutes to play.

Shannon Fallon stopped three shots for Yarmouth. Abby Roney made seven saves for Freeport.

CAMDEN HILLS 1, OCEANSIDE 1: Lexi Doudera’s goal with 14:07 left in regulation enabled Camden Hills (3-0-2) to earn a tie against Oceanside (3-1-1) at Rockport.

Oceanside took the lead when Jesse Veilleux scored on a direct kick with 11:45 left in the first half.

Jackay Richards assisted on the tying goal.

Lindsay Bumbalo made six saves for Camden Hills, and Kennadi Grover stopped seven shots for Oceanside.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 2, WELLS 2: Maggie McConkey saved 21 shots for the Raiders (1-1-3) against the Warriors (0-5-1) in a game that ended in a tie at Fryeburg.

Abby Smith and Megan MacGillvray scored for the Raiders.

Katherine Quint and Sophie Lamb answered for Wells, and Katie Tufts stopped 13 shots.

TRAIP ACADEMY 2, NYA 1: Katherine Volpe scored with 53 seconds left in the second overtime to lift the Rangers (3-1) over the Panthers (0-5) at Kittery.

Jocelyn Lorrey put Traip ahead midway through the second half. Moira Lachance tied it with about five minutes remaining in regulation.

Traip keeper Eileen Macomber made seven saves, including a penalty kick in the first overtime.

WINDHAM 1, MARSHWOOD 0: Cassie Symonds scored out of a scramble in the corner late in the first half to lift Windham (4-0) over Marshwood (1-4) at South Berwick.

Windham goalie Kate Kneeland had six saves. Marshwood keeper Tatum Schladenhauffen finished with 10 stops.

THORNTON ACADEMY 4, MCAULEY 0: Camilla Olsson struck first for the Trojans (4-1) as they defeated the Lions (0-4) at Portland.

Katie Couture, Kaitlyn Coburn and Jamie Durie added goals, and Emily Richard had nine saves for Thornton Academy. Molly Miller stopped 16 shots for McAuley.

LEAVITT 3, OAK HILL 2: The Hornets scored three straight goals on their way to a win over the Raiders in Turner.

Emily Perkins, Mariah Treadwell and Kelsea Marschall scored for Leavitt (3-2). Kelly Pomerleau made five saves.

Mariah Treadwell had a goal and an assist for Oak Hill (1-3-1). Darby Beaulieu also scored, and Desiree Johns (11 saves) and Kelsey Collins (eight saves) split time in goal.

HALL-DALE 6, WINTHROP 0: Kristina Buck scored three goals as the Bulldogs beat the Ramblers at Winthrop.

Clio Barr, Carylanne Wolfington and Maura Stottler also scored for Hall-Dale (3-2). Stottler added three assists and Wolfington had one.

Olivia Maynard earned the win with one saves, while Danielle Pease had 17 saves for Winthrop (0-4).

VOLLEYBALL

GORHAM 3, CAPE ELIZABETH 0: Lexi Merrifield had five kills, five aces and four solo blocks to help Gorham (2-2) win in straight sets at Cape Elizabeth (1-5), 25-11, 25-17, 25-17.

Taylor Hansen added five kills, two digs and two serving aces, and Vicki Parker had five aces for the Rams.
