Boys' Roundup: Clippers capture OT win

FALMOUTH - Max Watson scored on a free kick from David Murphy after 1:01 of the second overtime Saturday night to give unbeaten Yarmouth a 2-1 victory against previously unbeaten Falmouth in a Western Maine Conference schoolboy soccer game.

After Watson gave Falmouth (7-1-1) the lead with a penalty kick with 12 minutes left in regulation, Grant Burfeind tied it from Lucas Andrews with just under four minutes to play.

Andrew Fochler made nine saves for Yarmouth (7-0-2) . Will D'Agostino stopped two shots for Falmouth.

GREELY 2, YORK 1: Mitchel Donovan scored early in the second half as Greely (7-3) beat York (5-2-1) at Cumberland.

After Theodore Bullock scored after 1:51 for York, Jacob Nason converted a penalty kick seven minutes later to tie it.

Elijah Leverett made nine saves for Greely. Adam Legg stopped seven shots for York.

SCARBOROUGH 4, WINDHAM 0: Wyatt Omsberg scored twice, and Austin Downing collected a goal and an assist as the Red Storm (7-0-2) shut out the Eagles (6-2) at Scarborough.

Kenny Hodgdon also scored and Trevor Sparda added an assist for Scarborough, which led 3-0 at halftime.

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 6, TRAIP ACADEMY 1: Elliot Wellenbach scored two goals as the Panthers (7-3-1) cruised past the Rangers (4-5-1) at Yarmouth.

Jacob Scammon, Aiden McLaughlin, Jackson Cohan-Smith and D.J. Nicholas also scored for NYA, which led 4-0 at halftime.

WAYNFLETE 4, SACOPEE VALLEY 2: Mohamed Suja had a goal and two assists to spark the Flyers (7-0-1) past the Hawks (1-7) at Portland.

Suja assisted Henry Cleaves, then scored from Paul Runyambo. Trey Watson and Stephen Day answered to make it 2-2 at the half. Peabo Knoth and Runyambo scored in the second half.

Michael Pingree made 13 saves for Sacopee.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 1, POLAND 1: Sean Kruse scored for the Knights (1-6-2) and Christian Demiranda answered for the Raiders (3-3-3) at Poland.

Zach Lowe had eight saves for Poland. Paul Dostie made three saves for Fryeburg.

RICHMOND 2, GREENVILLE 1: Xavier Trask scored off a corner kick with 41 seconds remaining in the second overtime as the Bobcats (10-0) beat the Lakers (2-7) at Greenville.
