Cross Country Preview: Runners to Watch

Silas Eastman, a senior at Fryeburg Academy , is wrapping up a stellar high school career. He is the two-time defending Class B champ and placed 10th in New England.

Kirstin Sandreuter, Greely junior: Third in WMC but missed the state meet due to illness. Fifth in Class B as a freshman. 

Kristina Smith, Poland sophomore: Defending Western Maine Conference champion who placed 15th in Class B.


Peter Doane, Cape Elizabeth junior: Placed eighth in Class B last fall with the third-fastest time by a sophomore in all classes.

Silas Eastman, Fryeburg Academy senior: Two-time defending Class B champ who placed 10th in New England.

Nick Eaton, York senior: Placed eighth in Western Maine and 15th in Class B after a 41st in the WMC meet.

Josef Holt-Andrews, Telstar junior:
Third in Class C last fall, 28th in New England and the fastest sophomore at the Northeast Regionals.

Jay Lesser, Falmouth senior: Seventh in Western Maine and 13th in Class B to help the Yachtsmen win a state title.

Nathan Mackenzie, Mt. Ararat junior: Placed 16th in Class A last fall with the second-fastest time by a sophomore.

Nathan Madeira, Greely senior:
Finished fifth in Class B last fall and 82nd in New England, the 10th-fastest Maine runner.

Cameron Nadeau, Biddeford senior:
Placed fifth in Class A last fall, behind four runners who have since graduated.

Jack Pierce, Merriconeag senior:
Fourth in Class C last fall and third in the Western Maine Conference.

Will Shafer, Gray-New Gloucester junior: Class B state
