Bradley Babb and Andy Cusack became the third generation of their families to win championships at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway last weekend.

Babb, a 20-year-old from Windham, finished 10 points ahead of defending champion Bill Rodgers of Old Orchard Beach to claim the title in the Pro Series division, the Scarborough track's top NASCAR racing division.
Cusack, a 23-year-old from Scarborough, finished 10 points ahead of Cole Watson of Naples to win the Wildcat division, the three-eighth-mile track's third tier of NASCAR racing.
Babb is the grandson of Bob Babb Sr., who was the track champion at Beech Ridge in 1976 and 1977. His father, Bobby Babb, won track championships in 1998, 1999, 2003, 2005 and 2006.
Cusack is the grandson of former track owner Ralph Cusack, who won 12 track championships between 1953 and 1980. Andy's father, Glenn Cusack, won the track championship in 1982. His uncle, Andy Cusack, is the current track owner.
In the track's other NASCAR racing divisions, Donnie Morse of Windham finshed 16 points ahead of Matt Dow of Buxton to claim the Sports Series title, and Evan Armington, a 16-year-old from Lovell, became the youngest driver to win a division title at Beech Ridge by finishing 25 points ahead of Dave Cameron of Alfred in Roadrunners.
THE POINTS RACES are over at Beech Ridge but that doesn't mean the track's top drivers have finished racing for the season.
The Pro All Star Series is scheduled to make two more stops in Maine, and drivers in both the Pro Series and Sports Series are expected to compete in them.
The PASS 400 weekend is scheduled for Sept. 14-16 at Beech Ridge, with racing in PASS North's Super Late Models, Mods and Sports Series divisions.
The extremely fast air-foil cars from New England Midget Association also will race during the weekend.
Racing in PASS North's three divisions also is scheduled for Sept. 29-30 at Oxford Plains Speedway.
THREE MAINE-BASED drivers were invited earlier this week to run in the 50-lap Bond Auto ACT Invitational on Sept. 22 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Louden, N.H.
Travis Stearns of Auburn, T.J. Brackett of Buckfield and Rowland Robinson, a regular on the ACT tour this season from Steuben, were invited to compete in the race.
Stearns finished second to Shawn Martin of Turner in the Late Model Division at Oxford Plains Speedway, and Brackett, the son of an Oxford Plains regular, Tim Brackett, finished fourth in that division.
Previously, Ben Ashline, a 22-year old from Pittston, and Austin Theriault, an 18-year-old from Fort Kent, had qualified for the race.
Ashline won a 150-lap ACT event at Oxford Plains on May 20, and Theriault won a 150-lap ACT race July 28 at Beech Ridge.
Invitations are expected to go out to 23 more drivers in the next week to fill out the starting grid of 43 cars.
