FALMOUTH – Charlie Fay scored five goals to lead Falmouth to an 8-5 win over North Yarmouth Academy in a Western Maine Conference boys’ lacrosse game Monday night.

Fay broke a 4-4 tie late in the third quarter, then made it 6-4 early in the fourth. NYA’s Oliver Silverson answered with his third goal, but Brad Gilbert and Kris Samaras scored insurance goals for Falmouth (3-2).

TJ Daigler had two goals for NYA (4-2).

YORK 4, LAKE REGION 2: Mitchell Hickey scored two goals as the Wildcats (3-2) edged the Lakers (2-5) at York.

York erased a 2-1 deficit with three goals in the fourth quarter.

GARDINER 24, LINCOLN ACADEMY 1: Keegan Smith and Dalton Sargent each scored four goals to lead the Tigers (7-0) past the visiting Eagles (1-5).

Josh Caldwell and Austin Moore added three goals apiece, and Tyler Jamison and Walker Norton each scored twice. Josh Moore, Jake Truman, Alex Hinckley, Dalton Carmichael, Alex Nadeau and Adrian Heath scored one goal each. JD Crocker made seven saves.

Jonathan Riley scored for the Eagles. Asa Shadis made 17 saves.

BASEBALL

GREELY 12, FREEPORT 4: William Bryant sparked a five-run seventh inning with a two-run single as the Rangers (7-0) pulled away from the Falcons (3-5) at Freeport.

Connor Russell struck out 13 over 5 2/3 innings to earn the win. Jonah Normandeau had two hits and scored twice.

Freeport’s Connor Dietrich smacked a two-run triple and finished with three hits.

YARMOUTH 4, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 2: Connor Lainey singled home the go-ahead run as the Clippers (5-2) scored three runs in the sixth to rally past the Raiders (4-4) at Yarmouth.

Yarmouth pitcher Chester Jacobs struck out five and did not allow an earned run.

Tyler Hill and Tanner Wentworth had two hits apiece for Fryeburg. Hill scored a run.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 13, TRAIP ACADEMY 3: Hunter Bouthot went 3 for 3 with a triple, three RBI and three runs as the Seagulls (4-3) downed the Rangers (2-5) in five innings at Old Orchard Beach.

Sean McDermott added three hits, two RBI, two runs and two stolen bases.

POLAND 7, SACOPEE VALLEY 2: Kaleb Bridgham drove in three runs to lead the Knights (5-3) over the Hawks (1-6) at Poland.

Poland starter Shawn Murphy allowed one hit over six innings. Corey Cunliffe had pair of hits and a run scored.

Kyle Jordan knocked in both runs for Sacopee.

OCEANSIDE 4, MT. VIEW 1: Jordan Carter scattered six hits over six innings as the Mariners beat the Mustangs (1-4) at Thorndike.

Nick Judge paced Oceanside with three hits, a run and three stolen bases.

Nathan Wren had two hits for Mt. View.

OAK HILL 12, BOOTHBAY 0: Brady Dion hit a three-run triple to lead the Raiders (4-3) to a win in Wales.

Parker Asselin added a two-run single and a sacrifice fly. Asselin also earned the win. Ryan Riordan chipped in with a double.

Cole Barter had both hits for Boothbay (1-6).

HAMPDEN ACADEMY 9, MESSALONSKEE 2: Matt Martin pitched a complete game as the Broncos (7-1) beat the Eagles (5-3) at Oakland.

Cooper Antone had two doubles and two singles. Logan Steward also hit a double.

MT. BLUE 3, SKOWHEGAN 2: Nate Kendall hit an RBI single with two outs in the seventh to lift the Cougars (2-6) over the Indians (5-3) at Farmington.
