WATERBORO – Freshman Michael Laverriere ran nine times for 90 yards and three touchdowns Friday night, helping Thornton Academy to a 55-13 victory against Massabesic in a Western Class A football game at Ronco Field.

Austin McCrum passed for 144 yards and two scores for the Golden Trojans (4-1) against the Mustangs (1-4).

Cody Lynn added six catches for 107 yards and a touchdown, and also ran three times for 40 yards and a score. Jesse Meikle added 72 yards on the ground for Thornton.

LEWISTON 29, DEERING 16: Max Chabot threw two touchdown passes for the Rams (0-5) in a loss to the Blue Devils (1-4) at Portland.

Chabot, who completed 4 of 12 passes for 146 yards, connected with Ricardo Delgado on an 83-yard touchdown play in the fourth quarter.

Chabot later found Dominic Bernard for a 41-yard TD reception.

Chabot also threw two conversion passes to Mike Marzilli.

Fritz Gemmer finished with 62 yards on 12 carries, and Delgado intercepted a pass for the Rams.

MORSE 56, GORHAM 0: Colby Wadleigh, Liam McDonough and Raz Baltazar combined for 253 yards and four touchdowns rushing as the Shipbuilders (3-2) breezed past the Rams (0-5) at Gorham.

Wadleigh ran for 84 yards and two touchdowns, and Trenton Moore also had two scoring runs.

BONNY EAGLE 46, NOBLE 14: Jon Woods rushed for 152 yards on 12 carries and scored the first two touchdowns of the game as Bonny Eagle (5-0) used its ground offense to dominate the Knights (1-4) at North Berwick.

The Scots rushed for 305 yards and six touchdowns, building a 44-0 lead before John Mann scored on two long fourth-quarter runs for Noble.

Zach Dubiel scored three times and Joe Bissonette rushed four times for 58 yards for Bonny Eagle.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 22, OAH HILL 21: Tyler Scott intercepted Parker Asselin in the end zone on the next-to-last play, preserving the lead for Seagulls (3-2) against Oak Hill (3-2) at Old Orchard Beach.

The interception was Scott’s second of the game in the red zone. Scott also scored on a 15-yard pass from Bryan Roberts, as well as a pair of 2-point conversions from Roberts that ultimately proved the difference.

Roberts also had a 45-yard scoring pass to Joe Gildard, who also scored on a 52-yard interception return.

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 26, POLAND 23: Brandon Stearns caught a 12-yard touchdown pass from Peter Theriault with less than two minutes remaining to lift the Phoenix (4-1) over the Knights (1-4) at Poland.

The Knights took a 23-20 lead with three minutes remaining on a 4-yard scoring run by Adam Mocciola — his third touchdown of the game.

Theriault finished with four touchdown passes, two to Stearns.

YORK 34, MT. ARARAT 0: Sean Kelly rushed for 179 yards and three touchdowns, leading the Wildcats (3-2) past the Eagles (2-3) at York.

Ross Hogan also ran for two scores for the Wildcats, who led 27-0 at halftime.

CONY 31, SKOWHEGAN 12: The Rams (4-1) allowed 296 yards and 18 first downs but clamped down when it counted and beat the Indians (2-3) at Skowhegan.

“I thought we played pretty well defensively except for a few missed tackles in the first half,” Cony Coach Robby Vachon said. “I think our kids were really physical. They took our scheme to the field this week and I think they executed. We did a nice job of keeping them from making any real big, big plays.”

Skowhegan was playing short-handed. Kaleb Brown ran for 20 yards on his first carry, then was injured the next time he got the ball and didn’t return. Brett Gilbert handled the bulk of the Indians’ running game and finished with 94 yards on 20 carries and a pair of 1-yard touchdown plunges.

“Kaleb’s always a big part (of our offense),” Skowhegan Coach Matt Friedman said. “Especially where we were able to move the ball on the ground, I think with him in there, it would have made us that much more dynamic.”

BREWER 28, GARDINER 14: Quarterback Logan Rogerson ran 30 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter, helping Brewer (1-4) clinch a victory against the Tigers (0-5) at Gardiner.

Trailing 20-14 with four minutes remaining, Gardiner decided to go for it on fourth-and-10 from its 40. Brad Weston tried to find daylight on a toss play but was stopped by a group of tacklers, giving the Witches the ball in Gardiner territory.

Six plays later, Rogerson rolled to his right, cut left and found space down the right sideline for a 30-yard touchdown run, his second of the game. Rogerson ran for the 2-point conversion to seal it.

“It was a run first, pass second (option play),” Rogerson said. “I just saw the hole and ran into the corner of the end zone.”

MARANACOOK 47, BOOTHBAY REGION 0: The Black Bears (3-2) rushed for 402 yards and downed the Seahawks (3-2) at Readfield.

Chris Robinson led Maranacook with 165 rushing yards and two touchdowns, and quarterback Kyle Morand scored three times and ran for 45 yards.

Jake Gibson added 70 yards rushing, Zach Lacasse added a score and Simoin Davis rushed for 65 yards fr Maranacook.

Josh Murphy recorded seven tackles and Zach Besstte had eight for the Black Bears.

WINSLOW 47, MADISON 13: Dylan Hapworth rushed for 143 yards and two touchdowns as Winslow (5-0) beat the Bulldogs (0-5) at Madison.
