Skowhegan was playing short-handed. Kaleb Brown ran for 20 yards on his first carry, then was injured the next time he got the ball and didn't return. Brett Gilbert handled the bulk of the Indians' running game and finished with 94 yards on 20 carries and a pair of 1-yard touchdown plunges.

"Kaleb's always a big part (of our offense)," Skowhegan Coach Matt Friedman said. "Especially where we were able to move the ball on the ground, I think with him in there, it would have made us that much more dynamic."

BREWER 28, GARDINER 14: Quarterback Logan Rogerson ran 30 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter, helping Brewer (1-4) clinch a victory against the Tigers (0-5) at Gardiner.

Trailing 20-14 with four minutes remaining, Gardiner decided to go for it on fourth-and-10 from its 40. Brad Weston tried to find daylight on a toss play but was stopped by a group of tacklers, giving the Witches the ball in Gardiner territory.

Six plays later, Rogerson rolled to his right, cut left and found space down the right sideline for a 30-yard touchdown run, his second of the game. Rogerson ran for the 2-point conversion to seal it.

"It was a run first, pass second (option play)," Rogerson said. "I just saw the hole and ran into the corner of the end zone."

MARANACOOK 47, BOOTHBAY REGION 0: The Black Bears (3-2) rushed for 402 yards and downed the Seahawks (3-2) at Readfield.
