Boys' Roundup: Gorham remains undefeated with 3-1 victory over Thornton

GORHAM - Chandler Regan had a goal and an assist Thursday to lead Gorham to a 3-1 victory against Thornton Academy in an SMAA schoolboy soccer game.

Chris Hardy and Seth Anderson also scored for Gorham (6-0-1).

Brandon Lasante answered for Thornton (3-4).

Alex McCarthy had six saves for the Rams. Zack Lombard made seven saves for Thornton.

FALMOUTH 5, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0: J.P. White and Grant Burfeind had two goals apiece as the Yachtsmen (6-0) defeated the Patriots (3-2-1) at Falmouth.

Cooper Lycan also scored from White.

KENNEBUNK 3, CHEVERUS 2: Griffin Drigotas scored twice, including the eventual winner with two minutes left, as the Rams (5-2) downed the Stags (3-4) at Kennebunk.

Dany Reyes Caballero assisted on both goals by Drigotas, and Philip Butterfield also scored for the Rams from Jake Lary.

Cheverus cut the deficit to 2-1 on a penalty kick by Jamie Biegel with eight minutes left and Isaac Yeboah added a goal with one minute remaining.

Kennebunk keeper John Burns stopped the potential tying goal as time expired and finished with three saves.

MASSABESIC 4, SANFORD 0: Surafel Zunser scored twice to propel the Mustangs (2-4-1) over the Spartans (0-5-1) at Waterboro.

Noah Sawtelle and Brandon Bosse also scored.

MT. VIEW 1, MORSE 0: James Philbrick scored from Lorenzo Milani in the 29th minute as the Mustangs (5-2-1) edged the Shipbuilders (0-7) at Thorndike.

Mikey Hustus made four saves to record the shutout. Duane Tardiff finished with 10 saves for Morse.

MARSHWOOD 3, NOBLE 2: Logan Smith, Max McCoomb and Drew Hale scored consecutive unanswered goal as the Hawks (5-2) rallied to defeat the Knights (4-3) at North Berwick.

After a scoreless first half, Brandon Vigneault scored for Noble, which made it 2-0 on an own goal.

Matt Brenner made 11 saves for Marshwood.

Drew Martin stopped four shots for Noble.

PORTLAND 2, WESTBROOK 1: Tim Rovnak scored the winner from Cesar Juarez about 15 minutes into the second half as the Bulldogs (2-3-1) edged the Blue Blazes (0-6) at Portland.

Brett Goodnow of Westbrook scored the opening goal in the first half.

Sam Farr tied it from Ibraham Dahir.

Chip Weber stopped five shots for the win.

Austin Blake made 15 saves for Westbrook.

SCARBOROUGH 5, BONNY EAGLE 0: Austin Downing had a goal and an assist as five players scored for the Red Storm (5-0-2) against the Scots (1-6) at Scarborough.

Kenny Hodgdon, Sam Cekada, Max Ornstein and Trevor Sparda also scored, and Pat Stanton and Sam Warren combined for two saves in the shutout for Scarborough.
