CLINTON, N.Y. - Jeffrey Hopsicker connected with Joe Jensen on a 41-yard touchdown pass with 5:16 remaining Saturday to give Hamilton a 14-13 victory against Bowdoin in a NESCAC football game at Steuben Field.
After nearly 29 scoreless minutes, Thomas Romero gave Bowdoin (1-3) the lead with a 33-yard scoring pass to Ken Skon.
Hamilton (1-3) answered in the third quarter on Jordan Eck's touchdown pass to Simon Jia.
The Polar Bears added a pair of Jimmy Garvey field goals in the fourth. Garvey's second field goal, a 27-yarder, gave the Polar Bears a 13-7 advantage with 8:01 to play.
Romero threw for 206 yards for Bowdoin.
WESLEYAN 24, BATES 22: Jesse Warren threw three touchdown passes and Kyle Gibson ran for 141 yards for the Cardinals (4-0), who took a 21-6 lead and held off a fourth-quarter rally by the Bobcats (2-2) at Lewiston.
Ryan Curit of South Portland scored from 1 yard with 2:08 remaining to cut the deficit to two.
The Bobcats forced a three-and-out to get one more chance, but turned it over on downs at the Wesleyan 31.
Kyle Starr started the Bates comeback attempt with a 59-yard interception return that cut the gap to 21-12 at the start of the fourth quarter.
AMHERST 23, COLBY 3: David Bedit's 42-yard field goal accounted for the only points for the Mules (0-4) in a loss to the Lord Jeffs (3-1) at Amherst, Mass.
MT. IDA 30, HUSSON 0: Scott Drosendahl threw three third-quarter touchdown passes to give the Mustangs (5-1) a 24-3 lead over the Eagles (1-5) at Bangor.
FRAMINGHAM STATE 56, MAINE MARITIME 0: Matthew Silva threw for 330 yards and three touchdowns, and Matthew Mangano rushed for three scores to lead the Rams (6-1, 4-0 NEFC) past the Mariners (0-6, 0-4) at Framingham, Mass.
Michael Fahey rushed for 97 yards for Maine Maritime.
