SOUTH BERWICK – Nicole Harvey struck out 11 as Marshwood topped McAuley 3-1 Monday in a Southern Maine Activities Association softball game.

Harvey won a pitching duel with Taylor Whaley and the Lions (0-1).

Whaley finished with 13 strikeouts with three walks, but allowed runs to score on a passed ball and a wild pitch.

Sammy Crosman had an RBI triple for the Hawks (2-0).

 

WESTBROOK 4, SANFORD 1: Kerigan Demers drove in the winning run with a single in the third inning as the Blue Blazes (1-1) downed visiting Sanford (0-2).

Demers advanced to third on the throw home and later scored on a wild pitch.

Pitcher Allie Lemay gave up three hits, walked two and struck out eight for the win.

Kelly Tovey gave Sanford an early lead with an RBI double in the top of the first.

 

CHEVERUS 12, DEERING 1: Brittany Bell was 4 for 5 with two RBI and four runs scored as Cheverus (1-0) posted a six-inning, mercy-rule win over visiting Deering (0-2).

Starting pitcher Isabella Grasso struck out six, walked one and allowed two hits through four innings. Bell pitched the final two innings, giving up two hits and striking out three.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 9, LAKE REGION 4: Zoey Adams’ two-run homer in the third inning gave Gray-New Gloucester (3-0) its winning margin over Lake Region (0-1) at Gray.

Samantha Wilkins provided an RBI single in the first as the Patriots scratched out three runs.

Pitcher Maria Valente tripled in the third and Adams followed with a towering homer to center field for a 5-0 lead.

Wilkins added two more RBI in the fifth with another triple.

Valente struck out two and walked none, giving up five hits.

WELLS 12, YARMOUTH 5: Lauren Bame pitched a complete-game four-hitter and homered, leading Wells (1-0) past the Clippers (1-1) in Yarmouth.

The Warriors trailed 4-2 before a six-run fifth inning capped by Monica Link’s two-run single. Bame homered as Wells added four more in the sixth.

 

BONNY EAGLE 7, GORHAM 3: Rebecca Howell tripled home two runs and scored a third to give Bonny Eagle (1-1) a 4-1 lead over the Rams (0-1) in a sixth-inning rally in Gorham.

Alli Pike had three hits for the Scots, and Mariah Harrison, Ally Oillar and Howell added two each.

Kara Stahl rapped two singles for Gorham.

 

THORNTON ACADEMY 18, PORTLAND 1: Bailey Tremblay allowed one hit and struck out eight during a game shortened to five innings in Portland.

Tremblay added a two-run homer among her four hits, leading Thornton (2-0) past the Bulldogs (0-1).

Samantha Schildroth also hit a two-run homer for the Trojans.

Maddie Kennie had Portland’s only hit, an RBI single in the third.

MEDOMAK VALLEY 10, MORSE 1: Desiree Benner had 13 strikeouts and allowed two walks to lead the Panthers (2-0) past the Shipbuilders (0-3) at Bath.

Amanda Nickerson, Maria Ennamorati, Abby McQuire and Lauren Guptil each had a pair of hits for Medomak Valley.

Neisa Ryder had two hits for Morse.

 

POLAND 12, YORK 1: Poland (1-1) connected for 17 hits in its rout of the Wildcats (0-1) at York.

Pitcher Kolby Woods allowed five hits, struck out three and walked one.

 

MT. ARARAT 4, EDWARD LITTLE 2: Mallory Nelson doubled home two runs and scored on an error as Mt. Ararat (1-2) scored all its runs in the third inning to beat the Red Eddies (1-2) in Auburn.

Kim Leslie pitched a complete game for the Eagles, limiting Edward Little to three hits. Emily Schario pitched a four-hitter for Edward Little.

 

CARRABEC 15, BOOTHBAY REGION 2: Brooke Lewis hit three doubles and a triple to help Carrabec (1-0) defeat Boothbay Region (0-1) in six innings at Boothbay.

Carrabec scored 10 in the sixth to extend its lead to 14 runs.

 

SACOPEE VALLEY 17, TRAIP 5: Dakota Miner had three RBI as the Hawks (2-0) downed the Rangers (0-1) at Kittery.

Cari Estes knocked in two runs and Brooke Totman had a two-run double for Sacopee Valley.

Lynne Moore and Briana Lamoureux had two RBI apiece for Traip.

WINTHROP 13, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 1: Randi Dennett had a double and three singles to lead the host Ramblers to the MVC win.

Abby Helm added a triple and two doubles for Winthrop (1-0). Kristin Doughty pitched a two-hitter to earn the win over the Falcons (0-1).

 

MESSALONSKEE 12, LAWRENCE 1: Courtney Veilleux, Natalie Hunt and Phoebe Pelletier each had three singles to lead the Eagles (3-0) to the KVAC A win in Oakland.

Bri Garland added a three-run double and a single for Messalonskee.

Bri Emery led Lawrence (0-3) with a double and a single.

ERSKINE 14, LEWISTON 0: Alyssa Gartley had three singles to lead the Eagles to the KVAC A win in South China.

Kaitlyn Sutter and Avery Bond had two singles apiece for Erskine (1-2).

The Blue Devils are 0-3.

LACROSSE

MARSHWOOD 16, NOBLE 0: Janay Wright had four goals and an assist, and Alli Schoff three goals and an assist as the Hawks (1-0) dominated Noble (0-2) in South Berwick.

Brittany Bossi added two goals and four assists, and Jillian Gori also scored twice. Meghan Lewis made six saves for the shutout.

 

WAYNFLETE 14, WELLS 2: Ella Millard scored five times and assisted on four others, and Sadie Cole added five goals and four assists to give the Flyers (1-0) the victory against Wells (0-1) in Portland.

Amanda Deshaies and Hailey Smith scored for the Warriors.
