McAuley senior point guard Allie Clement has been named the 2014 Gatorade Maine girls’ basketball player of the year.

Clement also won the award as a junior.

Clement, who has signed a national letter of intent to play next season at Marist, led McAuley to a 21-1 season and its fourth straight Class A state title this season. She averaged 18.0 ppg, 3.0 assists and 3.2 steals, scoring 17 points with four 3-point baskets in McAuley’s 67-41 win championship game win against Oxford Hills.

Earlier this month Clement was named Miss Maine Basketball.

Clement is Maine’s fifth multi-time winner of the Gatorade honor joining Cindy Blodgett of Lawrence (1992-94), Sarah Marshall of McAuley (2002-03), Ashley Cimino of McAuley (2006-07), and Niki Taylor of York (2010-11).
