FALMOUTH — Tom Coyne finished with 24 points Tuesday night to lead Falmouth to a 67-54 victory against York in a Western Maine Conference schoolboy basketball game.

Jack Simonds added 15 points and 10 rebounds for Falmouth (7-1), and Nick Burton scored 12 points with nine rebounds.

Michael Gallagher led York (5-3) with 25 points.

Justin Rogers chipped in 13 points for Falmouth.

 

RANGELEY 45, GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 44: Michael Haley intercepted an inbounds pass at midcourt and drove to the basket for the winning layup with five seconds left as Rangeley (1-5) downed Greater Portland Christian (0-6) at South Portland.

After Rangeley opened with a 15-0 run, the Lions scored the final point of the first period, then outscored the Lakers 21-10 in the second to pull within 25-22 at the half. Rangeley widened the margin to 39-32 through three quarters, but the Lions surged again to finally take a 44-43 lead on Ethan Spaulding’s 3-pointer with a minute left.

Spaulding led Greater Portland Christian with 21 points. Timothy White scored 15, and Wyatt Dellavalle and Orrin Mitchell added 10 each for Rangeley.

 

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 67, TRAIP ACADEMY 60: Spencer Harriman scored five of his 10 points in overtime, helping the Patriots (2-5) edge the Rangers (2-5) at Gray.

Andreas Kariotis scored 23 points and Samuel Johnson had 19 for Gray-New Gloucester, which overcame a 34-21 halftime deficit to take a 10-point lead.

Traip made it 58-58 on a 3-pointer by Colin Macomber with eight seconds left. Peter Roy had 13 points and Nate Henderson scored 10 for the Rangers.

PORTLAND 66, WESTBROOK 26: Jayvon Pitts-Young scored 14 points, Amir Moss had 12 and the Bulldogs (8-0) held the Blue Blazes (2-8) to four points in the second half at Westbrook.

Matt Talbot added 10 points for Portland. Aquai Alexander had 15 for Westbrook.

 

SANFORD 43, MARSHWOOD 39: John Morgan scored 11 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter as the Spartans (5-4) used a 24-16 run to overcome the Hawks (2-5) at Sanford.

Evyn Nolette added 12 points, including seven in the fourth, with nine assists and three steals. Morgan also had 10 rebounds.

Brady Innes scored 18 points and Jack Letellier 10 for Marshwood.

 

CAPE ELIZABETH 59, WELLS 48: Ethan Murphy and Eddie Galvin combined for 32 points at Cape Elizabeth as the Capers (6-2) beat the Warriors (2-5) on a night Jake Moody scored his 1,000th point for Wells.

Moody came in one point shy and took care of it easily, scoring 25.

Murphy finished with 17 points, Galvin had 15 and Justin Guerette had 10 for Cape Elizabeth, which led 27-17 at the half.

DEERING 78, WINDHAM 37: Ahmed Ali scored 14 of his 20 points in the second quarter as the Rams (7-2) expanded a 9-7 lead to 41-18 against Windham (4-5) at Portland.

Patrick Lobor added 17, Liam Densmore 12 and Benedict Williams 11 for Deering.

 

BOOTHBAY REGION 59, WISCASSET 33: Julian Aponte scored all nine of his points in the first half, helping the Seahawks (6-1) open a 23-13 lead against Wiscasset (5-3) at Boothbay Harbor.

Andrew Hallinan finished with 13 and John Hepburn 12 for Boothbay. Travis Padilla led the

Wolverines with nine.
