SCARBOROUGH — Ashley Briggs scored seven of her 17 points in the fourth quarter Tuesday night, helping Scarborough overcome Portland for a 61-59 victory in an SMAA schoolgirl basketball game.

The Red Storm (6-7) shot 9 of 10 from the foul line in the final period to surprise the Bulldogs (11-2).

Bailey Adams and Jamie Sargent added 16 points apiece for Scarborough, which outscored Portland 17-12 in the fourth period after trailing 47-44.

Gabrielle Wagabaza led the Bulldogs with 18 points. Kate Johnson added 15, and Brianna Holdren and Taylor Sargent each had 10.

 

LINCOLN ACADEMY 64, MT. VIEW 41: Barrett Campbell scored 13 points and Jen Genthner added 12 as the Eagles (11-2) downed the Mustangs (3-11) at Newcastle.

Sam Burke chipped in 10 points and 10 rebounds, and Brie Wajer finished with 11 assists and 10 steals for Lincoln.

Courtney Morse paced Mt. View with 13 points.

 

SANFORD 43, DEERING 37: Morgan Fogg scored 22 points, and the Spartans (5-8) shot 9 of 13 from the line in the fourth quarter to pull away from the Rams (5-8) at Sanford.

Sanford was 19 of 24 on free throws overall.

Amanda Brett scored 14 points and Mary Tadsse had 10 for Deering.

WAYNFLETE 52, BUCKFIELD 31: Leigh Fernandez scored 13 points to help the Flyers (6-5) cruise past the Bucks (2-11) at Buckfield.

Helen Gray-Bauer added 10 points and 10 steals for Waynflete, which took a 33-15 halftime lead.

Arrabire Dunn led Buckfield with 12 points.

 

BONNY EAGLE 52, MASSABESIC 24: Elizabeth Bushey scored 13 points and Tracie Townsend added 11 as the Scots (4-9) handled the Mustangs (1-11) at Waterboro.

MORSE 39, MEDOMAK VALLEY 18: Noa Sreden scored 13 points, Emma Harrington and Signe Ostergaard each had 11, and the Shipbuilders (5-9) shut down the Panthers (9-4) at Bath.

 

RANGELEY 60, HYDE 19: Tori Letarte had 18 points as the Lakers (11-1) cruised past Hyde (1-10) at Rangeley.

Blayke Morin added 12 points for Rangeley.

FOREST HILLS 47, PINE TREE ACADEMY 41: Kori Coro scored 17 points and made two 3-pointers during a 20-6 third-quarter run as the Tigers (13-0) beat the Breakers (8-3) at Freeport.

Alex Goodman had 12 points and 10 assists for Pine Tree.

 

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 35, YARMOUTH 22: Skye Dole scored 13 points with nine rebounds and three steals to pace the Raiders (6-6) over the Clippers (3-9) at Yarmouth.

Fryeburg Academy finished on a 26-5 run starting in the second quarter, recovering from 10 first-half turnovers.
