BRUNSWICK – Bryan Hurley made a jumper from the right elbow with eight seconds left in overtime to lift Bowdoin to a 61-60 win over Bates in a New England Small College Athletic Conference men’s basketball game Saturday.

Keegan Pieri finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds, and John Swords added 10 points and nine rebounds off the bench for Bowdoin (9-3, 2-1), which led 40-30 at halftime.

Bates (6-10, 1-3) was led by Luke Matarazzo with 19 points, including five 3-pointers. Adam Philpott added 13 points.

ALBANY 76, MAINE 63: The Great Danes (14-4, 3-1 America East) took control with a 27-14 run at the start of the second half against the Black Bears (7-10, 2-2) at Albany, N.Y.

Alasdair Fraser led Maine with 16 points and nine rebounds. Xavier Pollard scored 15 points and Justin Edwards had 14.

ST. JOSEPH’S 56, RIVIER 55: Nich Jobin made a jumper from just inside the foul line with three seconds left as the Monks (8-4, 4-2 GNAC) scored the final five points to edge the Raiders (6-7, 2-3) at Nashua, N.H.

Jobin finished with 16 points, and Steve Simonds, Matthew Medeiros and Julio Vazquez added 10 apiece.

SOUTHERN MAINE 82, UMASS-DARTMOUTH 78: Alex Kee scored 33 points and the Huskies (9-6, 4-1 Little East) withstood a late rally from the Corsairs (2-11, 0-5) at North Dartmouth, Mass.

NICHOLS 90, UNE 76: Charles Fenner scored 20 points, and Joshua Butler had 15 points and 11 rebounds for the Nor’easters (2-11, 1-5 Commonwealth Coast) in a loss to the Bison (7-6, 2-4) at Biddeford.

SMCC 102, KING’S 56: Emmanuel Donalson and Chance Baldino combined for 37 points and nine other players scored for the Seawolves (16-3) against the Lions (1-10) at South Portland.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

SOUTHERN MAINE 82, UMASS-DARTMOUTH 61: Haley Jordan scored a season-high 24 points as the Huskies (15-0, 5-0 Little East) cruised to a win over the Corsairs (11-3, 3-2) at North Dartmouth, Mass.

Nicole Garland added 23 points on 8-of-12 shooting, including 6 of 10 from behind the 3-point line. Rebecca Knight contributed 18 points and 13 rebounds, and Jordan Grant had 10 points and 13 rebounds.

BATES 67, BOWDOIN 64: Allie Beaulieu scored 26 points and pulled down nine rebounds, and the Bobcats (8-7, 2-2 NESCAC) held off the Polar Bears (7-6, 1-2) at Brunswick.

Molly Brown added 23 points off the bench for Bates.

Kaitlin Donahue paced the Polar Bears with 17 points.

UNE 70, NICHOLS 33: Michaela Flanagan finished with 13 points, five rebounds and five steals in 18 minutes off the bench as the Nor’easters (9-4, 6-0 Commonwealth) rolled past the Bison (4-8, 1-5) at Biddeford.

ALBANY 71, MAINE 39: Courtney Anderson made three 3-pointers and finished with 11 points to lead the Black Bears (1-15, 0-3 America East) in a loss to the Great Danes (12-3, 3-0) at Albany, N.Y.

RIVIER 74, ST. JOSEPH’S 63: Morgan Cahill scored 22 points and Danyelle Shufelt added 21 for the Monks (7-6, 1-1 GNAC) in a loss to Rivier (8-5, 2-0) at Nashua, N.H.

TUFTS 51, COLBY 37: Brooke Chandor finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds for Colby (6-8, 1-2 NESCAC) against the Jumbos (15-0, 4-0) at Waterville.

MEN’S HOCKEY

UNE 4, NEW ENGLAND COLLEGE 3: Nick Kolb scored a power-play goal 2:24 into overtime to lift the Nor’easters (5-9, 3-6 ECAC East) to a win over the Pilgrims (5-7-2, 4-4-1) at Biddeford.

Colby Drost finished with 39 saves to earn the win. UNE got a goal and two assists from Russ Franey and a goal and an assist from Ryan Quinn.

BOWDOIN 5, TRINITY 2: Ollie Koo scored a pair of goals and Colin Downey collected two assists as the Polar Bears (13-1-1, 8-1-1 NESCAC) scored three times in the first 10 minutes of the second period to rally past the Bantams (6-4-3, 3-2-3) at Brunswick.

ST. ANSELM 5, SOUTHERN MAINE 2: Tucker Mullin, Jon Ahern and Liam McKillop each had a goal and an assist to give St. Anselm (8-3-2, 5-3-1) a victory over USM (6-9, 3-6) in Gorham.

Alex Pompeo and Angelo Vrachnas scored third-period goals for USM.

WESLEYAN 3, COLBY 1: The Cardinals (7-6-1, 3-4-1 NESCAC) scored three goals in the third period to rally past the Mules (3-11-1, 1-8-1) at Waterville.

Nick Lanza scored his team-best ninth goal of the season for Colby.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

BOWDOIN 7, WESLEYAN 2: Stephanie Ludy notched a hat trick, Ariana Bourque added two goals and the Polar Bears (11-1-1, 6-0 NESCAC) outshot the Cardinals (4-10, 1-7) by a 53-22 margin on the way to a win at Middletown, Conn.

BOSTON UNIVERSITY 5, MAINE 2: Brittany Dougherty had a goal and an assist for the Black Bears (3-16-1, 1-9 Hockey East) in a loss to the Terriers (13-3-3, 8-2-1) at Orono.

PLYMOUTH STATE 3, USM 1: Erin Banfield scored a power-play goal in the third period for USM (4-5-4, 3-3-2 ECAC East) in a loss to the Panthers (3-10, 2-6) at Plymouth, N.H.

COLBY 3, CONNECTICUT COLLEGE 2: Samantha Slotnick had two goals and an assist and Brianne Wheeler stopped 20 of 21 third-period shots to help the Mules (5-8, 1-7 NESCAC) hold off the Camels (5-7-1, 2-5-1) at New London, Conn.

Megan Fortier also scored for Colby.
