CLEVELAND – Drew Stubbs’ RBI double with one out in the 10th inning lifted the Cleveland Indians to their fifth straight victory, 7-6 over the Minnesota Twins on Friday night.
Stubbs, who had four hits, drove a 1-0 pitch from Casey Fien off the wall in left-center to give Cleveland its first five-game winning streak since winning seven in a row from April 26-May 3, 2011.

Mike Aviles started the rally with a leadoff single off Fien (1-2). Pinch-hitter Ezequiel Carrera, claimed off waivers from Philadelphia on Thursday, moved Aviles to second with a sacrifice. Stubbs, who had two singles and two doubles, then drove in the game-winner.
MARINERS 4, BLUE JAYS 0: Felix Hernandez pitched eight shutout innings to win his third straight start, and Kyle Seager and Jason Bay homered as Seattle won at Toronto.
Seager had three hits as the Mariners won for the sixth time in eight games.
Hernandez (4-2) allowed five hits, walked none and struck out seven, improving to 3-0 with a 0.60 ERA in his past four starts.
He’s 95-24 in his career when he receives two or more runs of support.
ATHLETICS 2, YANKEES 0: A.J. Griffin pitched six-hit ball into the eighth inning and Adam Rosales homered on CC Sabathia’s first pitch, leading Oakland to a win at New York.
NATIONAL LEAGUE
REDS 6, CUBS 5: Jay Bruce had two RBI and scored a run, and Shin-Soo Choo drove in a run and scored twice as visiting Cincinnati held on at Chicago.
The Cubs scored three runs in the ninth against Reds closer Aroldis Chapman before reliever J.J. Hoover came on and struck out Darwin Barney with the bases loaded to pick up his first save.
Mike Leake (2-1) gave up two runs and nine hits in 52/3 innings, earned his fourth straight decision over the Cubs with help from five relievers.
PIRATES 3, NATIONALS 1: A.J. Burnett allowed one run and struck out nine in seven shutout innings, and call-up Jordy Mercer hit a tiebreaker home run to lead host Pittsburgh.
Burnett (3-2) gave up five hits and one walk in winning his third straight after going 0-2 in his first three starts. He also raised his NL-leading strikeout total to 57.
Mercer’s two-run homer off Ross Detwiler (1-3) in the fifth inning put the Pirates ahead for good 3-1. Mercer was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis before the game when second baseman Neil Walker was placed on the disabled list with a right hand injury.
METS 7, BRAVES 5: David Wright hit the tying home run in the ninth inning off closer Craig Kimbrel and New York scored twice in the 10th to rally for a 7-5 victory at Atlanta.
The Mets, who have won two in a row after dropping six straight, scored four of their first five runs on homers before taking a two-run lead off Jordan Walden (1-1) in the 10th.
PHILLIES 4, MARLINS 1: Jonathan Pettibone pitched into the seventh and Ryan Howard, Chase Utley and Domonic Brown hit solo homers as Philadelphia won at home.
Pettibone (2-0) allowed one run and five hits in 61/3 innings in his third start filling in for injured lefty John Lannan.
Donovan Solano hit a solo homer for the Marlins, who’ve lost three in a row after winning three straight.
