CANTON, N.Y. – St. Lawrence scored three times in the final five minutes to send the University of Maine to a 5-2 hockey loss Saturday at Appleton Arena.

Trailing 2-1 after two periods, the Black Bears (0-3) put on a furious charge in the third, outshooting the Saints 19-6 and tying it on a power-play goal from Mark Anthoine with eight minutes remaining.

But it took only 3:06 for Brian Ward to give St. Lawrence (3-0) the lead again. Greg Carey scored 54 seconds later to make it a two-goal cushion, then added a short-handed empty-netter with 58 seconds remaining.

Ryan Lomberg also scored for Maine while Martin Ouellette stopped 32 shots.

FIELD HOCKEY

BOWDOIN 9, HAMILTON 1: Emily Simonton scored a pair of goals and also had an assist as third-ranked Bowdoin Polar Bears cruised to their 38th straight home win in a NESCAC game.

Rachel Kennedy and Liz Znamierowski added two goals apiece for the Polar Bears (9-1, 5-1).

UMASS-DARTMOUTH 2, USM 1: The Corsairs (10-3, 7-0) rallied from an early deficit against the Huskies (5-10, 2-5) at Gorham.

USM took the lead just 6:48 into the game when Peyton Dostie scored her team-leading 15th goal of the season off a penalty corner.

Amanda Kashbohm made nine saves for the Huskies.

ST. JOSEPH’S 2, THOMAS 0: Allyson Allard and Effie Drew each scored less than five minutes apart early in the first half as the Monks (10-2, 5-2) downed the Terriers (5-7, 2-4) at Standish.

AMHERST 1, COLBY 0: Sara Culhane scored on an assist from Krista Zsitvay with 4:44 left in the first half and the 10th-ranked Lord Jeffs (8-2, 6-1) held on to edge the Mules (5-4, 2-4) at Waterville.

Sarah Evans finished with 12 saves for the Mules.

UNE 4, ROGER WILLIAMS 0: Casey Clark scored a pair of goals and collected one assist as the Nor’easters (8-5, 7-0) scored three times in the second half to pull away from the Hawks (2-9, 0-7) in a Commonwealth Coast game at Biddeford.

Hayley LaPointe added a goal and an assist for the Nor’easters and Erin Bibber scored one goal.

Holly Smith recorded the shutout for the Nor’easters, who outshot the Hawks, 30-0.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

BOWDOIN 3, HAMILTON 1: Kiersten Turner and Amanda Kinneston each collected a goal and an assist as the Polar Bears (8-1-1, 4-1-1) closed out the second half with three unanswered goals to rally past the Continentals (3-3-2, 1-3-2) in a NESCAC game at Brunswick.

After falling behind three minutes into the second half, the Polar Bears tied the game on a goal by Abby Hemmerl.

Turner scored the eventual game-winner with 11 minutes left in regulation and Kinneston added a goal two minutes later.

UNE 3, EASTERN NAZARENE 0: Margaret Palmer scored twice as the Nor’easters (7-5-1, 4-0-1) beat the Crusaders (8-5, 1-3) at Biddeford.

Katy Marshall also scored a goal for the Nor’easters on an assist from Taylor Littlefield.

EASTERN CONNECTICUT 1, SOUTHERN MAINE 0: Brianna Curcio scored on a one-timer off a pass from Nicole Leonard 17:24 into the game and the Warriors (7-5, 2-2) held on to edge the Huskies (4-8-1, 1-3) in a Little East game at Mansfield, Conn.

ST. JOSEPH’S 3, EMMANUEL 1: Megen Pollini and Desiree Parent scored goals three minutes apart late in the first half to lead the Monks (11-2, 6-1) to a GNAC win over the Saints (6-7-2, 4-2-1) at Boston, Mass.

Jodi Pollack added a goal for the Monks late in the second half and Whitney White collected one assist.

AMHERST 3, COLBY 1: The Lord Jeffs (7-1-2, 4-1-2) defeated the Mules (4-5, 1-5) at Waterville. Colby rallied when Annie Papadellis scored on an assist from Amelia Barnett 10 minutes into the second half, but Amherst held on to win.

MEN’S SOCCER

BOWDOIN 2, HAMILTON 0: Matt Dias Costa won a 50-50 ball against the keeper and chipped in the eventual game-winner 15 minutes into the second half for the Polar Bears (4-2-3, 2-2-2) in a NESCAC win over the Continentals (2-4-3, 1-2-3) at Brunswick.

Bowdoin keeper Noah Safian finished with four saves, including stopping a breakaway attempt from 5 yards in the first half.

Zach Danssaert added a late goal for the Polar Bears.

BATES 5, UM-FARMINGTON 1: Luis Pereira led the Bobcats (3-5-2) with three goals as they scored four unanswered goals to pull away from the Beavers (2-8-1) at Lewiston.

Peabo Knoth and Sam Predham added two assists apiece for the Bobcats, and Tyler Grees and Matt DiVite each scored a goal.

Ryan Fairbanks scored for Farmington.

ST. JOSEPH’S 4, EMMANUEL 2: Kyle Shangraw scored three goals, including the evental game-winner in the 65th minute on an assist from Garrett Darnell, as the Monks (9-4-1, 5-0) remained undefeated in GNAC play with a win over the Saints (5-9, 2-3) at Boston.

Victor Santos also had a goal for the Monks, on assists from Shangraw and Zach Johnson.

AMHERST 3, COLBY 1: Christopher Martin scored a pair of goals during an eight- minute span late in the first half and early in the second to lead the Lord Jeffs (8-0-2, 6-0-2) to a NESCAC win over the Mules (4-6, 0-6) at Waterville.

Colby’s goal was scored by Tim Stanton on a penalty kick with 7:58 left in the game.

EASTERN CONNECTICUT 4, USM 1: Caleb Leino scored from Nat LeBlanc to give the Huskies (0-13-1, 0-4 Little East) a lead in the 10th minute, but the Warriors (8-1-3, 3-0-1) used three second-half goals to win at Gorham.

UNE 2, EASTERN NAZARENE 1: Tyler Garnick opened the scoring just 1:41 into the game and Will Bushey added a goal 22 minutes later as the Nor’easters (6-5-3, 1-3-1) held on for a win over the Crusaders (2-10, 0-5) in a Commonwealth Coast game at Biddeford.
