STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The University of Maine completed its run through the America East Conference baseball tournament Friday by clinching the title with a 10-1 victory over Albany.

The second-seeded Black Bears (32-22), who have won 17 of 18, earned a berth in the NCAA tournament for the first time since the 2006 season. The selection pairings for the regionals will be announced Monday and televised at 12:30 p.m. on ESPN.

Maine broke a 1-1 tie with four runs in the fourth inning, featuring a two-run single by Taylor Lewis.

Maine starter Stephen Perakslis went 7 1/3 innings and allowed one run on three hits while striking out eight.

Justin Leisenheimer and Ian Leisenheimer each homered, and Joey Martin was 3 for 5 with two RBI and two runs scored. Lewis also had three hits.

Fourth-seeded Albany (21-31) beat No. 1 Stony Brook (42-12) earlier Friday in an elimination game.

Maine’s Michael Fransoso, Alex Calbick, Keith Bilodeau and Lewis were named to the all-tournament team.
