Maine Colleges: Maine finishes a weekend baseball sweep

Toni DaCampo had a two-run homer in the first game for Bowdoin, while Katie Gately went 3 for 4 with two RBI.

Gately had three more RBI in the second game. Victoria Rusch finished with three hits and two RBI.

UNE SPLITS WITH ROGER WILLIAMS: Freshman Abby Lambert recorded her first career shutout to lead the Nor'easters (16-13-1, 8-6 Commonwealth Coast) to a 1-0 win over the Hawks (14-14, 12-2), but UNE lost 6-2 in the second game at Biddeford.

In the opener, Megan Gauger's RBI single drove home Adrienne Chase.

SMCC SWEEPS EMCC: Danielle Mobbs went 3 for 4 with two RBI and a run scored to lead the Seawolves (6-11, 6-5) to a 10-6 win over Eastern Maine CC (1-6, 1-6) in the opening game at South Portland.

The Seawolves downed the Mustangs 10-0 in the second game behind a five-hitter from Lindsey Howell, who also had three hits, drove in three runs and scored twice.

ST. JOSEPH'S SPLITS WITH EMERSON: Kim Jordan tied the game with an RBI triple and scored the go-ahead run on a single by Danyelle Shufelt to lift the Monks (22-6, 14-4 GNAC) to a 5-4 win over the Saints (15-11, 12-2) in the second game at Boston, Mass.

In the opener, the Monks scored three runs in the first on a two-run homer by Heather Tripp and an RBI single by Melissa Mayhew, then gave up five runs in the bottom of the inning for a 5-3 loss.
