The Nor’Easters beginner synchronized skating team, representing the North Atlantic Figure Skating Club of Falmouth, ended an undefeated season by winning the U.S. Figure Skating Challenge Series. The team includes Madison Wolf, Ally Huard, Christina Oakes, Kyla Gallup and Kelsey Glockler of Falmouth; Barrett Reed, Eden Larsen, Victoria Malayev and Kaitlin Malayev of Scarborough; Veronica Tarr of Freeport; Sadie Cogle of Auburn; Katie Callahan of Harpswell; Faith Mitchell of Sweden; Lucia Bolles of Yarmouth; and Violet Singer of Portland.

Lynn Godbout made a hole-in-one on the 92-yard sixth hole at Deep Brook Golf Course on July 25. The shot was witnessed by Rita Leblond and Polly Miller.

Walter Kosmenko used a 6-iron to score a hole-in-one on the 13th hole at Gorham Country Club on July 25. The 155-yard shot was witnessed by Willie Viola, Mike Towle and Coach Gagne. 

Matt Melton aced the sixth hole at Gorham Country Club on July 26. Melton used a pitching wedge for the 141-yard shot, which was witnessed by John Smith. 

Peter Williamson aced the 155-yard 16th hole at Falmouth Country Club on July 28. He used an 8-iron for the shot, which was witnessed by Kevin Thurlow, John Dennison and Marc Fishman. 

Bob Ouellette recorded his fifth career hole-in-one on the fourth hole at Brunswick Golf Club on July 29. Ouellette used a 5-wood for the 174-yard shot, which was witnessed by Jim Cornelio, Don Girardin and Lee Gagne.
