The Pleasantdale softball team won the Greater Portland Senior Men's Softball League championship, beating 2011 champion Foreside Tavern 16-3 in the final at Wainwright Field in South Portland.
Team members were Bobby Bean, Tim Burchill, Peter Connolly, Andy Dickey, Mike Esposito, Marty Horton, Steve King, Tom Morgan, Rick Moulton, Bill Nickerson, Vinny O'Malley, Tony Parrella, Jack Powell, Bruce Sampson, Dave Spencer and Clyde Wentworth.
Bob Billington, used a pitching wedge from 74 yards to make a hole-in-one on the 13th hole at Bath Country Club on Sept. 1. His playing partners were Don Sedor and Dana Libby.
