Falmouth High's sailing team placed first out of 21 teams in the Lawrence A. White Trophy Regatta, held Oct. 13-14 at Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn.

Franz-Peter Jerosch, center, of Yarmouth finished fourth in the juvenile boys’ division (age 13 and younger) at the New England Regional Figure Skating Championship in Boston, earning a trip to the Eastern Sectional championships Nov. 8-12 in Hyannis, Mass. Charlie Lalumiere and Haley McMahon won the A Division by a wide margin, with a score of 56 points over 16 races. Riley Engelberger, Kayla Adelman and Myles Everett finished eighth in the B Division.
Falmouth already had qualified for the Atlantic Coast Championships Nov. 10-11 in Christchurch, Va.
Chan Bearce of Gorham scored his second career hole-in-one on the 17th hole at Dunegrass Golf Club on Oct. 17. He used a 5-wood for the 176-yard shot, which was witnessed by Ted Everest, Vaughn Gushee and Domenic Pugliares.
Ed Doughty of Gray used a sand wedge to ace the 16th hole at Spring Meadows Golf Club on Oct. 21. It was Doughty's second hole-in-one. His wife, Beverly, witnessed the 102-yard shot, along with Vic Martel and Topper West.
Julie White made a hole-in-one from 112 yards on the fourth hole at Spring Meadows Golf Club on Oct. 18. The shot was witnessed by Tim White.
Josh Dwinal aced the third hole at Fox Ridge Golf Club on Oct. 7. Dwinal used an 8-iron for the 167-yard shot, which was witnessed by Tyler Tyburski and Tyler Richard.
Carl Wegener aced the eighth hole at Sable Oaks Golf Club on Oct. 15. Wegener used an 8-iron for the 125-yard shot, which was seen by Mike Adams, Larry Kangas and Rob Stuardi.
