STANDISH – Ashley Tice drove her penalty stroke into the net 15:32 into the game, giving Marshwood the early lead in its 3-0 SMAA field hockey win over Bonny Eagle on Wednesday.

Tice scored on another penalty stroke 21:14 into the second half, followed by Abby Doyle’s goal two minutes later for Hawks (5-1)

Cassidy Smith made a single save for the shutout.

Ashlyn Wintle blocked five saves for Bonny Eagle (3-1-2).

WESTBROOK 6, NOBLE 0: Siobhan Foley and Christina Wormwell scored two goals apiece for the Blue Blazes (3-3) as they cruised past the Knights (0-4) at Westbrook.

Siobhan also had one assist for Westbrook and Micaela LeBeau chipped in one goal and two assists.

CHEVERUS 3, DEERING 0: Becca Archer, positioned at the post, tapped in a wide rebound with 2:26 left in the first half, breaking a scoreless tie between Deering (1-4-1) and the host Stags (4-1) in Portland.

Archer and Emily Michaud added second-half goals.

Libby DesRuisseaux saved four in net for Cheverus. The Rams’ Sadie Rhinehardt had 12 saves.

MASSABESIC 4, BIDDEFORD 2: Jackie Guillemette scored three minutes into the game and, after a tally by Emma Desrochers, notched her second goal as the Mustangs (3-1) beat the Tigers (2-1-1) in Biddeford.

Logan Provencher increased the lead to 4-1 before Mallory Mourmouras and Charlotte White countered for Biddeford.

Abby Greenleaf made five saves, and Bailey Phman a defensive save, for the Mustangs. Biddeford goalie Mackenzie Hevey made eight saves.

SANFORD 3, SOUTH PORTLAND 0: Tally Brown scored twice, and Marissa Nance once, as the Spartans (3-2) opened a 3-0 halftime lead en route to beating the Red Riots (1-4) in South Portland.

Casey Bucklinl, Courtney Camire and Liz Helmreich had assists for the Spartans.

THORNTON ACADEMY 6, PORTLAND 0: Libby Pomerleau and Ashley Houp scored twice as the Trojans (4-2) shut out the Bulldogs (1-4) in Saco.

Allie Romprey and Jackie Parent also scored, and Lauren Russell had three saves.

Thornton’s Gabby Capozzi did not have to make a save for her fourth shutout this season. Gianna Gaudet had 16 saves for the Bulldogs, while her defenders added five more saves.

SCARBOROUGH 2, WINDHAM 0: Abby Walker scored an unassisted goal with 9:25 left in the opening half, and Kristen Murray converted Maggie Corbn’s assist midway through the second half, to give the Red Storm (5-0) a win against the Eagles (2-3) in Windham.

Windham goalie Tyra Boucher kept the game close with 19 saves.

MT. BLUE 3, CONY 1: Hannah LeClair, Victoria Newbill and Krista McLatchy scored as the visiting Cougars (3-2) beat the Rams (3-2).

VOLLEYBALL

GORHAM 3, SOUTH PORTLAND 0: Hallye Anderson finished with four kills, four aces and eight rotation points to lead the Rams (1-4) past the Red Riots (0-5) in straight sets at Gorham.

Mackenzie Bowers added four kills, five aces and five rotation points for the Rams.

Emily Peterson finished with 13 rotation points and a pair of aces.

KENNEBUNK 3, NORTH YARMOUTH 2: Meg Dube served the final three in a row to give the Rams (5-0) a 15-12 victory in Yarmouth.

Hannah Johnson controlled the net as Kennebunk won the first two games 25-17 and 25-18. But the Panthers won the next two games by 25-17 scores to force the deciding game.
