GORHAM - Ross Suleski had two goals and an assist in the final 17 minutes as St. Joseph's opened its men's soccer season with a 3-2 win over Southern Maine in the USM Soccer Classic.
Suleski scored the first two goals for St. Joseph's to erase a 2-0 deficit, then set up Ralph Houanche's winner in the 81st minute.
Mazen Aljari scored in the first half for USM. Luke Pugsley made it 2-0 less than a minute into the second.
UNE 2, MAINE MARITIME 1: Will Bushey scored his second goal of the game on a header off a cross from Matthew Christie in the 82nd minute to lift the Nor'easters over the Mariners in a season opener at Biddeford.
Maine Maritime took an early lead when Evan Turmenne scored off a rebound just 2:09 into the game.
Bushey got the equalizer, heading in a pass from Scott Mitchell in the 17th minute.
Aidan McParland made seven saves for the Nor'easters, who were outshot 16-13.
WESTFIELD STATE 2, UNE 1: Kayley Miller assisted on the tying goal and scored the winner as the Owls (1-0) scored twice in the final 10 minutes to rally past the Nor'easters (0-1) at the Springfield College Invitational in Springfield, Mass.
Jackie Dickerson opened the scoring for the Nor'easters in the 18th minute.
GORDON 2, SOUTHERN MAINE 0: Caitlin Nedde and Karina Scavo scored to lead the Scots (1-0) past the Huskies (0-1) at Wenham, Mass.
Marissa Temple finished with 12 saves for USM, which was outshot 27-3.
(13) MICHIGAN STATE 17, (24) BOISE STATE 13: Le'Veon Bell ran for a career-high 210 yards and two touchdowns, including the winner with 8:12 remaining as the Spartans edged the Broncos at East Lansing, Mich.
In a sloppy season opener, the Spartans turned the ball over four times and trailed 13-10 before Bell scored from 5 yards out midway through the fourth quarter.
