SACO – Jackie Guillemette converted a penalty corner 2:42 into overtime to give Massabesic a 4-3 win over Thornton Academy in an SMAA field hockey game Friday.

Maggie Redman’s second goal of the game early in the second half put Massabesic ahead 3-1, but Libby Pomerleau answered with two goals, completing a hat trick.

Alex Staples also scored for Massabesic (3-1), and Abby Greenleaf stopped four shots. Gabrielle Capozzi made five saves for Thornton (2-2).

BONNY EAGLE 2, DEERING 2: Amanda LeMoult scored her second goal of the game early in the second half as Deering (0-3-1) earned a tie against Bonny Eagle (3-0-1) at Standish.

After Deering jumped out to an early lead, Bonny Eagle went ahead 2-1 on a pair of first-half goals by Leah Carter.

Ashlyn Wintle made eight saves for Bonny Eagle. Deering keeper Sadie Rhinehardt stopped six shots.

CAPE ELIZABETH 2, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 0: Taylor Herrera scored late in the first half and assisted on an insurance goal midway through the second as the Capers (3-1) edged the Raiders (2-2) at Cape Elizabeth.

Abi McInerney scored the second-half goal for the Capers. Mary DiPietro made three saves to record the shutout.

FREEPORT 5, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 1: Hannah Williams recorded a hat trick to lead the Falcons (1-3) over the Patriots (0-4) at Falmouth.

Freeport also got goals from Dani Foster and Emily Sturtevant.

Sara Carter scored the lone Gray-New Gloucester goal.

LAKE REGION 8, POLAND 0: Abby Scott-Mitchell, Lucy Fowler and Destiny Durant scored two goal apiece to lead the Lakers (3-1) past the Knights (0-3) at Naples.

Megan Skarbinksy and Elizabeth Shriver added a goal each. Meghan VanLoan needed just two saves to record the shutout.

NOKOMIS 4, LINCOLN ACADEMY 0: Mikayla Pelkey scored in each half as the Warriors (4-0) beat the Eagles (0-4) in a game stopped in the second half because of heavy rain in Newport.

Andrea Call had 17 saves for Lincoln Academy.

OAK HILL 1, DIRIGO 0: Kylee Veilleux scored with an assist from Hayley Marshall on a corner midway through the second half as the Raiders (3-1) beat the Cougars (0-4) at Dixfield.

Abby Fuller stopped three shots to earn the shutout. Amanda Dolloff had seven saves for Dirigo.

FREEPORT 2, WELLS 1: Livie Dimick made eight saves as the Falcons (2-1) held off the Warriors (1-2) in a game played at Durham Community School.

Brooke Heathco scored at 30:25 of the first half, assisted by Courtney Broderick, to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead. Freeport went up by two goals when Julia Smith scored 3:28 into the second half, assisted by Nina Moore.

Wells got a goal from Sophie Lamb six minutes later. Kate Tufts kept the Warriors close with 14 saves.

THORNTON ACADEMY 10, NOBLE 1: Amanda Arnold scored four goals to pace the Trojans (3-0) against the Knights (0-3) at Saco.

Tori Daigle opened the scoring 3:15 into the match. Hannah Fields answered for Noble 43 seconds later, scoring off a corner kick, but Thornton added five more goals before halftime.

Daigle finished with two goals. Kaley McCrum, Haley DaGraca, Brooke Cross and Emily Harris added a goal each.

MADISON 1, WISCASSET 0: Kayla Bess scored with 31:25 remaining in the first half to give the Bulldogs (3-0) a win over the Wolverines (1-2) at Madison. Kirsten Wood was credited with an assist. Savanna Kandiko made nine saves in the shutout.

Kayla Gordon made seven saves for Wiscasset.

BOYS’ SOCCER

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 3, TRAIP ACADEMY 0: Jordan Kruguer had a goal and an assist to lead the Raiders (2-1) over the visiting Rangers (0-3).

Kruguer set up Joe Schrader in the first half and scored unassisted in the second. Austin Gerchman got the other goal with an assist from Ben Davis.

Blaine Andreoli made two saves for the win. Colin Macomber stopped five shots for Traip.

GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 6, HIGHVIEW CHRISTIAN 2: John Konczal and Ethan Spaulding scored two goals each, and Eddie Daigneault and Jeremiah Hannon also scored for the Lions (2-1) win a win over the Knights (0-2) at Woolwich.

David Duval contributed an assist, and Mason Jones finished with five saves for GPCS.

Jae Hwan Kim and Yilipajiang Maimaiti scored for Highview Christian. JJ Sheldon finished with 12 saves.

MT. ABRAM 4, TELSTAR 1: Gerardo Rio scored twice for the Roadrunners (2-1) in a win over the Rebels (1-2) at Salem.

Chris Daly and Trevor Brackley also scored for Mt. Abram. Gavin Haggan had an assist and Tristen Dyer made four saves.

Bronson Dean had 17 saves for Telstar. Nick Conrad scored the Rebels’ goal.
