GORHAM — Tucker White hit two homers and doubled twice Thursday, driving in six runs and scoring four to help the University of Southern Maine down Salem State 22-10 in a nonconference baseball game.

White hit a solo homer in the first inning and added a three-run shot in the sixth, to go with a two-run double in the fourth and a double in the fifth. White extended his hitting streak to 12 games for the Huskies (13-3) against the Vikings (8-9).

The teams combined for 43 hits, 20 by USM.

ST. JOSEPH’S 11, CURRY 3: Alex Valenti struck out nine and allowed five hits to help St. Joseph’s (13-5) defeat Curry (4-6-2) at Standish.

Brandon Chase had three hits, two RBI and two runs for the Monks, who scored five in the third inning to take the lead for good. St. Joseph’s scored two on an error by the shortstop. Chase followed with an RBI double, Willie Brown drove in a run with a grounder and Tim Beaudette added an RBI single.

BATES 5, ENDICOTT 4: Kevin Davis singled with the bases loaded and no one out in the ninth to lift Bates (8-5) over Endicott (10-8) at Lewiston.

Endicott rallied from a 3-0 deficit to make it 3-3 in the eighth and seized the lead with a run in the top of the ninth.

SOFTBALL

SALEM STATE SWEEPS SOUTHERN MAINE: Jenn Toussaint went 5 for 5 with three RBI and five runs as Salem State (9-7) downed Southern Maine (1-15) 10-1 and 7-5 at Gorham.

Toussaint had three hits in the opener. Paige Flemming was also 3 for 3 in the first game, which Salem won in six innings. Kristen Duross drove in the USM run with a sacrifice fly.

In the second game, the Huskies took a 5-1 lead with a five-run third. Duross, Lauren Haberern and Katie Davis drove in runs.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE

ST. JOSEPH’S 12, REGIS 9: Krystal Walsh and Cassie Diplock scored three goals apiece to help St. Joseph’s (7-4) defeat Regis (5-5) at Portland.

In the last nine minutes, Walsh scored two unassisted goals, then passed to Lizzie Calnan for the final goal of the game in a 1:39 span.

ENDICOTT 16, SOUTHERN MAINE 5: Kelly Tierney had four goals and five assists to help Endicott (6-4) beat USM (6-3) at Beverly, Mass.

Jenna Cyr scored twice for the Huskies. Samantha Purcell, Jacki Kelly and Rosie Foster also scored.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

ED RUSH resigned as the Pac-12 Conference’s basketball coordinator of officials following comments during internal meetings before the league tournament that appeared to target Arizona Coach Sean Miller.

BAYLOR 74, IOWA 54: Pierre Jackson had his fourth straight double-double with 17 points and 10 assists to lead Baylor (23-14) to its first NIT title, beating Iowa (25-13) at New York.
