Bolduc, Pirates blast IceCaps 4-0

Alexandre Bolduc scored a pair of goals and Chad Johnson posted a shutout as the Portland Pirates blanked the St. John’s IceCaps 4-0 Wednesday at Mile One Centre in St. John’s, Newfoundland.

Brett Hextall and Chris Connor also scored for the Pirates who led 1-0 after the first period and 2-0 after the second. With the win, the Pirates improved to 2-2-1-0 on the season.

Phil Lane, Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Evan Brophey added assists for Portland who outshot the IceCaps 27-19. Bolduc was named the game’s first star and Johnson the second.
