The parent Phoenix Coyotes have assigned defenseman Chris Summers to the Portland Pirates.
Summers, who scored two goals and has 11 assists while playing 47 games for the AHL team, spent the past 10 days in the NHL team. This season, he has played six games for the Coyotes.
