PHANTOMS NOTES: Center Brayden Schenn, a regular with the parent Philadelphia Flyers last season, scored two goals and had an assist as the Phantoms opened the season Oct. 13 with a 6-3 win against the Pirates in Glens Falls, N.Y. In the three games before the Christmas break, rookie center Sean Couturier scored a goal and had five assists.

PIRATES NOTES: The Pirates have won nine of their last 12. Andy Miele has a goal in each of his last four games. In his last 12 games, center Alexandre Bolduc has scored three goals and has eight assists. In their last six games, rookie center Chris Brown has two goals and three assists, and defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson has two goals and five assists.
