WHALE NOTES: Connecticut has won six of its last eight games to pull even with Portland. Last month, in the first two games of the season between the teams, left wing Tim Kennedy scored two overtime goals to lift the Whale to back-to-back victories over his old team. Forward Brodie Dupont has a three-game points streak.

PIRATES NOTES: Portland has earned at least a point in six of its last eight games. Forwards Mark Mancari and Maxime Legault have four-game points streaks. In his last three games, left wing Dennis McCauley has two goals and two assists. Forward Derek Whitmore has assists in each of his last two games.
