SHARKS NOTES: The Sharks have won 4 of 5 to stay on the Pirates' heels. Tim Kennedy, who sat out two games during a weekend trip to Pennsylvania, has four goals and five assists this season against the Pirates. Veteran center Jon Matsumoto has three winning goals the past two weeks. Worcester has split the first six games in its 12-game series against Portland.
PIRATES NOTES: The Pirates have won 10 of 12 games. Defenseman David Rundblad has had an assist in each of his last four games. Veteran left wing Rob Klinkhammer and defenseman Michael Stone have points in four of their last five games. Center Alexandre Bolduc, who leads the Pirates in scoring with 16 goals and 14 assists, is riding a two-game goal-scoring streak.
