BRUINS NOTES: The Bruins, who are 4-3 against the Pirates this season, have won 11 of their last 13 games. Center Ryan Spooner and right wing Jamie Tardiff each have scored four goals against Portland. In his last five games, veteran center Trent Whitfield, a former Pirate, has three goals and an assist. Since joining Providence in early January, right wing Graham Mink, another former Pirate, has five goals and five assists in 18 games. During his six-game points streak, defenseman Matt Bartkowski has a goal and seven assists.

PIRATES NOTES: At 18-6, the Pirates, winners of seven of their last 10 games, have the 30-team AHL’s best record on home ice. In his last six games, veteran forward Rob Klinkhammer, who has three goals and five assists in six games against Providence, has scored two goals and assisted on five. Rookie forward Phil Lane has four goals during his three-game scoring streak. Rookie goalie Mike Lee has won six of his starts with the Pirates while compiling a 1.98 goals-against average. At 85.7 percent, the Pirates are tied with Rochester as the AHL’s sixth-best penalty-killing team.
